Question

Is there a way to select multiple similar objects in a project?

I have a number of rectangle shapes of the same size and position on multiple slides in a project. I want to change the properties of each one, is there any way I can select them all rather than selecting each one, slide by slide?

You cannot select multiple objects that are not on the same slide. You didn't tell which properties you want to change, nor which Captivate version you are using? If those properties are part of the style, why not create a style that all those objects use, and then it is a breeze just to change some properties. If it is about size or position, the Properties panel has different sections where you can use a menu to apply the changed properties to all objects of the same type or 'of the same style'. The last choice again proves that it is very important to use the Object Style Manager to manage styles!

Thanks Lilybiri. I'm using Captivate 9 and I want to send multiple objects to the back of the slide. I'll have a look at using styles, though I'm not sure if that will allow me to change the backwards level of multiple objects.

No, Align is not part of the properties, nor the style. I am sorry, don't see a way to do this quickly. Personally I would not want this even, because you could send shapes behind other objects, which makes them invisible.
