New Captivate 2023 software issues - freezing and error messages

Hi Everyone!

Windows 11, i7

Software downloaded to a M.2 drive so fast readout.

3 x montior setup.  (2 x 4k and 1x 1080p)

I am having lots of issues using the new Captivate 2023. Although the Classic version works perfectly fine, the new version keeps having issues like freezing and error messages.  When I try to add a Widget or Media box i get the message "Something went wrong" popup.   I can however add text or interactive componenents.  Another issue i have found, is that the software hates different monitors using diffferent resolutions.  I have to unlpug the 1080p monitor while using the 4k ones. Even so, with just the 1 or 2 4k monitors on, i still get these messages.   Any thoughts or ideas please? Anybody else getting these problems?  Paul

So I have a solution for anyone using the "new 2023" Captivate and having software publishing issues - If you are using mulitple or 4k monitors, you have to make sure they are all at 100% scale. It seems to be the same issue when recording simulations on the Classic version.  This is just a workaround and I really hope Adobe addresess this problem as text is very small when 100% on a 4k monitor.

As an addon to the above. I can create a project but only with text slides.  I cannot import Widgets, SVGs and Media etc. It does not Preview and when I Publish/open in a browser, it cannot be viewed and comes up with a blank screen saying "something went wrong". arrgh!

Hmmm that is something which is not normal. Did you update version CP2019 to 11.8.2 so that its icon will change to Cpc and correct links are established?

Yes the Captivate classic version is working well since updated.  I Just cannot use the new Captivate 2023.  (They should call the new version a different name as meant to run alongside the classic - similar to how Articule named thier software)  Anyway I can only add text on the PC version.  I tried downloading the software on a spare IMac and seems to work ok within the app - i can now add widgets, SVGs and so on.  However, i am getting the SAME  publishing and preview problems on the mac as well as the PC version.  arrrgh! I do not have any publishing or preview problems using the Classic.

Someone may correct me, but to me Software simulations in the new Captivate are non-responsive, they keep the same size and just pan to the particular part in use for the interactivity. That is the reason why all tools are dimmed (for me) because they are meant to insert responsive items. I don't know how you managed to click the widget or media box button, because that is impossible for me.

When you check the non-desktop resolutions you'll see the same: the sim is not responsive.

Problems with multiple monitor setup for capturing has always been a problem, which you detected is not yet solved. Personally I will not create Software sims in this version, but continue to use CP2019. Without the possibility to add items to slides, a sim is pretty useless. You can add responsive slides, but not on slides of the sim itself. I have also been looking for the text in Failure messages: 'Enter Failure Text' appears. I choose a simulation in Dutch, hmmm. Although the .rdl files are in the installation folder. Those files have the texts for the messages.
