New Captivate: Adding audio to a button in the timeline widget

Hi! I am new to Adobe Captivate and am using the timeline widget. I am trying to add audio to my timeline widget and have one general audio that starts when the user is on the slide, but want a new audio to start when the user clicks on the button in the timeline.  I see how I can use bookmarks in the timeline below, but it will start at a certain time versus when I click the button.  I've tried to do a custom interaction, but I can't figure out how to make the trigger a click action. Thanks.

Thanks for posting this! I was also unable to find a way to add audio to widgets, that would trigger when a user selected a new tab, carousel, hot spot, etc.

I guess my question is, if there are no programming plans in the future towards widgets, no ability to easily add audio to a widget other than the main slide. How do we address ADA for visually impaired learners? Will there be an easy work around for this?

Widgets (formerly labeled as Learning Interactions in older versions) have alway been very closed: only what is provided in the widget can be edited. I had a quick look at the Timeline widget in version 12, and couldn't find a way to have audio linked to the timeline buttons. That used to be the case for the Timeline Learning interactions in versions 11.5 and before, but I also discovered that those interactions except 3 (not so useful ones) have been taken out from Captivate Classic which is a shame.

Trying to create this interaction from scratch may be possible, cannot help you at this moment.

Bookmarks are indeed linke to a frame on the slide timeline and cannot be dynamic (one of my first feature request).   Both the interaction and the media button are dimmed for all elements in the Timeline widget. You could add a block with buttons below, and use them to trigger

Thank you for your response.  You can add the audio to a bookmark in the timeline, but again, it plays based on the timeline versus when the button is clicked. It is just odd that they wouldn't have a custom interaction on the widgets. Hope they add this in future updates.

I am trying the images with action buttons, to see if I can get the effect to work that way instead.  Fingers crossed.

No way with bookmarks (they are buggy). I tried to explain that you shouldn't expect more customisation in the future for widgets. I regret that adding audio was possible in the Timeline interaction of previous versions but lost it in this version.
