What is the best way to collect partial scores (i.e. the number of correct matches) in D&D interactions, rather than a fixed, all-or-nothing number of quiz points per interaction, for use in assessments. I'm using Captivate 9.
I know how to create and increment a user-defined variable that follows the number of correct matches, but not how to report out this variable to be used as an alternative, more granular quiz score. I saw a 2013 forum posting by someone from InfoSemantics describing how their Interactive Master widget that could do this. I don't mind buying an add-on like that, but wonder if there is a simpler solution, that would minimize the authoring time and complexity for partial-score interactions. It would really be a useful feature for future versions of Captivate!
I would be grateful for any up-to-date recommendations on the best way to do this, even if it is still InfoSemantics' Interactive Master widget.
Thanks!
Peter
Did you post this already once? Please, no double posting.
Like most default type of questions (exception are the MCQ) D&D has no partial scoring. The quizzing system variables are read only, from within Captivate you cannot change them, even though it is pretty easy to create a custom score with partial scoring using the object actions in D&D. Those quizzing system variables are used to transfer result to a LMS. Maybe it is possible with JS, but cannot help you with that.

InfoSemantics has indeed very good D&D widgets, but those are only suitable for SWF, not for HTML output.

Thanks Lilybiri!
Can partial scoring be summed across multiple interactions using a custom score (I assume, a user-defined variable incremented using object actions) within a given project? If so, how would one transfer the resultant custom score to a LMS?
(Sorry for the similar post on adobe forums. I only discovered the elearning.adobe.com site after that one, and will stick to this one moving forward!)

Questions from the learning portal automatically get into these 'old' forums. It is a bit annoying to get double quesitons, but I understand the confusion. It should be clarified.
You can store a custom score in a user variable, but have to find a programmer to transfer those variable values.
