Save Doesn't Work at Times

I am posting to the forum because this issue has happened to me enough times that I'm super frustrated about it. A project will randomly not save when I save it. I did hours of work yesterday, saved the file (compusively throughout the time I was working). I open the file this morning and "poof" - hours of work are gone.

I have tried Mac and Windows machines. It happened far more frequently on mac, but the experience yesterday was on windows. I did just update to version 12.2 in hopes that will help whatever issue I'm having.

In the past, I was backing up my project on onedrive. This time around, I have the project saved to my desktop to see if the cloud was causing issues (corrupted files, save not working, etc.).

Has anyone else experienced this issue, and do you know what might trigger it? I cannot even begin to count the number of hours I've lost to stuff randomly not saving.

You are probably using the new version 12? I had similar problems and more users have mentioned them.

Just one tip: always save to your system, not to a networked drive nor a cloud drive (like OneNote).

Thanks for the reply. Glad to know (I guess?) it's not just me.

Yes, I'm using version 12. Does this happen with Captviate Classic? I have been waffling for the last six months about just re-building the course in Classic since the new version is so terrible at customization and has all these bugs.

In the past, I've been excluseively saving in the cloud. However, I was researching another issue the other day and saw someone mention in a forum post that storing in the cloud can cause corruption, so I have switched. I do wonder if that wasn't causing some of the audio issues I've had in the past. Sigh... hopefully, they will fix this at some point. I tried to report it as a bug, but - irconically - the bug report form won't save and keeps giving me an error.

Version 11.8 is also bit buggy, reason why I keep to 11.5.5.553 for real work because it has lot less bugs and is very stable.  I even ose OneDrive without issues, but that seems not being the case for everyone.

Version 12 is - my personal opinion - at this moment not really meant for the type of projects I have helped clients with since over a decade. It is meant for another type of developers who occasionally have to create an eLearning project.
