Question

selection rectangle only on 1 button in html5 publish

I have created a custom navbar with buttons for my windows cp9 project and I also selected the "hide selection rectangle for slide items in HTML5" option.

When I preview or publish though, all of my buttons work as expected except for one of them.  My mute button gets a selection rectangle around it on rollover and the positioning gets slightly offset as a result.

I created them all exactly the same, simple shape with transparent background in fireworks saved as a png file.

I've also tried editing/updating/re-adding the button to no avail.

Why would I have this issue with only 1 of my custom buttons?

I suspect you mean an image button, do you have the three images ending on _up, _over, and _down? Why did you not use shape buttons? What is the link with the title: is the selection rectangle not disappearing for that button?

Tend to avoid shape buttons because of occasional oddities in different browsers.

Attaching functionality to images is cleaner (speaking from an html/javascipt viewpoint).

However, I noticed that In this case, I actually used a different workflow for that one button when making changes.

For most of them, I right-clicked in CP and chose to Edit with Fireworks, and that worked fine.

But for the problem button, I made edits by opening the file directly in FW and then updating it back into CP.

For some reason this made a difference, though it should logically make no difference.

Anyway, when I reverted back to an earlier CP file, and then used the "Edit with" to pull it into FW, the round-trip editing worked much better.

Weird.
