Question

Sending to a computer without captivate for review- how do I do this?

I have finished a project for a professor to review - he does not have captivate on his laptop and this is my first project.  I sent him a zip file and he said there were no executable files in it - I have no idea what to do.  Can someone walk me through this?

You could use a free account on scorm cloud, or there is reviewmyelearning.com if you want feedback.

One small point: EXE output is not going to be an option if this is a Responsive project.

If this is HTML5, upload to a web server or LMS and send the prof a link to watch it.

An option is to publish it as an executable file and provide it to him. As an executable file everything should work.

Another possibility is to use the Adobe Captivate Reviewer. This allows someone to review your project without having Captivate installed themselves. If your professor and you both have access to a shared network folder, he can review your project using the free Adobe Captivate Reviewer application (an Adobe AIR app). Captivate even allows you to email the Reviewer application along with your review (.CREV) file. In Captivate, just use File --> Send for Shared Review.

You mentioned a professor. If your college or university has an LMS (Learning Management System) like Moodle, somebody should be able to upload the module on it and subscribe your professor to the course. That's another option.

Did you publish the file? To HTML5? Best way is to upload to a webserver and send the URL. You could send the published folder, and instruct to launch the index.html file, but there is no guarantee that everything will work as expected. It is much easier with SWF output.
