Is there a way to change the stroke and margin on all smart captions without changing anything else?
I have a course with approximately 165 slides, all have the same caption style. I want to have the same stroke color on all (some are slightly different) and make the stroke size=4 on all (some are 6 and some are 4). I'd also like to make the margins uniform. They are all different.
I did this in the object style manager, but I lost all the formatting I did by hand (random bolding and random italics), so making the change in the object style manager does not appear to be an option.

That is the problem when you don't use a style in a 'good practice' way but override the style all the time. Stroke and fill are part of the object. Would be much better to create first that style. You could reset each overridden style, so that they have all the same style. Then you can apply a new style to all objects having that first style.

THanks, i'm just touching them all by hand..... I can think a few ways for captivate to make this easier to be more forgiving for change after an object style has been established.
1. On the object style manager there could be check boxes for all items you want (or not want) changed in the object.
2. There could be an export of all objects of one style into a excel spread sheet. The spreadsheets contains demographics of each object's demographics such as fill, stroke opacity, margins. and others. The spreadsheet could be manipulated and imported into the proj to update the objects.
Just sayin.

Hmmm, I have been teaching a lot of applications which use Object styles, and it was always the same story. Not sure how you would do this? I find Captivate already more user friendly, because you can create styles without opening the OSM, which is certainly not the case with most Desktop Publishing apps. Moreover the object styles are included in a theme and it is very easy to create a custom theme.
