Hi. I am a novice user of Adobe Captivate 2017. I have created a successful software simulation but for some reason I am having difficulty with a second one. I am trying to record an assessment for Google Classroom but it is not recording the "hover" buttons even though I am clicking on them. Any suggestions?? Thank you.

Captivate doesn't always 'hear' changes on screen with some apps or web applications. That means you need to do a manual capture of any changes that don't get automatically recorded. If you don't hear the camera shutter sound at some point when performing a capture session, but you WANT to capture that change in a separate screen, then you just need to hit whatever key you have assigned for those manual captures.
By default it is the PrintScreen key, but since I am right handed using the mouse, I prefer to change the setting to the F2 key so that I can navigate the software interface with my right hand while my left hand hovers over the manual capture key just in case I need to pick up another capture manually at any point.

Okay. Thank you. I will try that.

I followed your suggestions with the F2 key and then all of the "right" answers the learner has to hit the F2 button to be correct... I was very proficient in Captivate v5.5 and am new to this version and this definitely was not a problem in the past... When doing a software sim (Demo and Assessment)... there are many places that I click my mouse, but Captivate is not recording them...

I think you may be misunderstanding what I suggested. I use the F2 key as my default manual capture key (instead of the usual PrintScreen key that Captivate would normally use). I chose F2 because it's on the left side of my keyboard and that frees my right hand to use the mouse.
My suggestion only applies to the elearning developer when they capture the simulation slides. The learner should NOT be using the F2 key when they are playing the content (unless the software you are simulating happens to require them to do that for a given action).
If you are detecting that clicking your mouse when capturing simulations is not resulting in captures, quickly hitting the manual capture key is your fall-back solution. It means you don't miss the step in the task sequence. It's better to have too many captures than too few because deleting the redundant captures takes a lot less time than setting up another capture session to splice in the missing steps.

Thank you for your response... yes, I misspoke and it was that Captivate wasn't capturing my mouse clicks as "correct" responses, so I am having to manually add click boxes where they need to be and then adding a success, failure and hint box... if there is a more automated way to do this, please let me know... the automated capture wasn't capturing everything. And thanks again!

You probalby recorded in Demonstration mode instead of Trainin or Assessment mode.
