Text Glitch - Copying over text fields to a new project causes all of the text to disappear

I've been updating courses into a newer training template design (both files are in version 2019). When I copy over text, slides with text, or quiz questions with text it causes problems with the new file. These problems don't show up until I saved the file, closed and then reopened the file. Once it's reopened all of the text in the whole project is invisible. I can see the text in the slide view on the left, but when I click on the slide it doesn't display any text until I click on the text field itself, then it magically appears. Also, when I preview the course all of the text is gone until I have clicked on every single text field in the course then I can preview it and the text will be viewable. Unfortuately this is not a solution because if I save and close the course, once I open it up again the text is invisible again and I have to click on every single text field. This really seems like a technical problem and it makes transfering slides a big pain!

What you describe sounds like one (or both) of the projects might be corrupted.  The other possibility is that perhaps there is a conflict of styles in the Themes in these projects.

I would suggest opening a new blank project of the same stage dimensions and trying to copy the slides into this project first.  That way you can tall whether the issue is perhaps Theme related.  The blank project will have very little in its theme to cause any conflict.

You are not the first to report this problem in the forums, although in other mentions it was not really about copy/paste between projects, but about text appearing in Filmstrip but not on the stage as you explain as well. First of all it would be good to offer the exact version number, because  CP2019 had three main releases and several patch releases. You find the full version number under Help, About Captivate. One release before a patch was updated had refreshing issues.

Rod Ward may be correct that this could be a conflict between the Themes which are not the same. Since 11.5 it is possible to have multiple themes in one project but I have experienced with several clients that this can lead to serious problems if styles/master slides are used with same names.

Thanks for the help! Copying and pasting into a blank project worked. It probably is a conflict between themes.
