Text is Invisible Until I Click the Text Box. Why?

Hello Everyone,

Every time I open a project that I'm working on, the text is not there.  This happens on every slide, throughout the entire project.  As soon as I click on where the text should be, it appears.  I can see the text in the filmstrip.  The also happens when my colleague opens the same project.  If I preview the project without clicking on every text box, the boxes are blank.  Anyone know why this would happen?

    Did you solve your problem?  i'm having same issue, same captivate version.

    Was the custom theme created for this version of Captivate?  That could be one of the reasons. I don't know the font, suspect it is not a Typekit font? Captivate is sensitive to 'corrupt' fonts, I do not claim at all that this font is corrupt but we did see a lot of issues with fonts in the past.  Does it happen when you replace that font in one object style by a webfont? It wouldn't take too much time just for testing to edit one object style.

    I just replaced all of the font with Arial.  It is still happening.

    This was created in 2017, in Windows.


    I'm out of ideas, never had that problem but I did see it appear sometimes for previous versions. Sorry not to be of help.

    Which version are you using, exact number, please?

    Can you clear the cache? Maybe clean Preferences as well.

    Hi Lilybiri,

    I'm working in Captivate 2017 version 10.0.0.192.  I haven't tried clearing the cache or preferences yet.  I'm concerned about deleting things that I need.  Any advice?  And since this is happening on my colleague's computer, too, is it a cache/preferences problem for her as well?

    First time I see this problem popping up for CP2017. When you say 'text box', do you mean a text caption, a text entry box or a shape used as text container? Which theme do you use? Is this a responsive project or a normal project? Are you on Windows or Mac?
