I am fairly new to this, so this might an easy question. I am trying to add my "next" button on top of a rectangular banner I made. However the button keep hiding behind the banner. Is there anyway I can bring it to the front?

    hi

if you are in ver 2017 (like me) ... do this... don't move the objetcs (images, texte, etc) with the mouse.. use the position tool to place these objects with precision  and to solve your problem... just a remarque... the 2017 ver... isn't good.
i noticed that the 9 ver and before are better and clearer.

Sorry, I don't understand the relation between your answer and the question which seems to be about the stacking order, not the 2D position. As for moving objects, I mostly use shortcut keys, but don't see any difference about the behavior with mouse moving. I always use Guides and snapping as well. Maybe something has gone wrong with your install? Are you on Mac or Windows? I use both Win7 and Win10 systems with CP9 and CP2017.

    hi
    i'm using captivate 2017 on Win 7 (64 bits)
i can't move images or texts mith the mouse.
i can place then once with mouse but can't move them.
maybe there is a problem due to installation.
must i reinstall the software ?

    More information is needed.

Which version are you using (full version number please)?

The 'banner': is this a static image, on the master slide or timed for the rest of the project? Or are you talking about an animation?

You can insert screenshots which could help explaining your problem.

I am using Captivate 9 (10.0.92). The banner was made just using the shapes tool. It is not animated.

You are not on version 9 but on version 2017, (internal number is 10).

Post a screenshot of the timeline, which doubles as a layer panel: did you check the stacking order? The Next button's timeline should be above the banner.

Have a look at this article, where I explained that understanding the Tiemline should be a priority for each new CP-user.
