Use Review buttons throughout course

I am using Captivate 2017 and have found that the Review Mode Navigation Buttons option works really well if all my Questions slides are at the end of the course.  What I would like to do, however, is have the same functionality but scatter the questions throughout the course and have the Review Mode Next/Back Buttons appear as each question is completed, not when all of them are complete. For example, if slide 6 is a question the learner will have to provide an answer the first time he/she visits the slide but if they proceed to slide 7 and then go back to slide 6, the feedback will be displayed (correct/incorrect) as well as the Next/Back buttons. Is this possible and if so, how?  Also, what is the trigger for when Captivate enters Review Mode?

    Review is triggered with the Review button on the Score slide. At that moment, all further Quiz attempts are considered to be exhausted.

    I just published a post where I use a custom Review slide, to prevent that the user cannot retake the quiz anymore.

    This is not what you want, but with default quiz slides that is not possible. If you want that amount of control you need to create custom question slides, using standard objects, variables and advanced or shared actions.

    OK thanks.  If you have to click the Review button on the Score slide in order to get review mode, then why is "Review Mode Navigation Buttons" a separate independent option on the Quiz: Settings tab?  Do you not always also have to enable "Show Score at the End of the Quiz" in order to get the Navigation Buttons?  This seems especially odd since by default "Review Mode Navigation Buttons" is enabled but "Show Score" is not.

    You could choose to create custom buttons, and make them visible only when in Review mode, using a conditional advanced action checking the value of the system quizzing variable cpInReviewMode. If you don't have Review navigation buttons during Review, the user is stuck on the first slide (unless you keep the playbar). I suspect that is the reason why the setting for Review Navigation buttons is checked. But they'll only show up during Review.
