Hi,
If I want to track my face, does it make a difference wether the webcam I buy is 30 or 60FPS? And 1080p or 720p?
I will make sure to have good lighting and eliminate any other factors that might affect the tracking, but in specific regards to the FPS and P, are these important?

I don't have any proof, but here are my thoughts in case helpful.
If the animation you create is 30fps (or even 12 FPS) then 60 FPS on the web cam seems pointless. but I bet you can turn the FPS down to a lower value so it would not hurt.
For resolution it is just trying to pick up position of mouth, head, eyes. eyes is the hardest one. glasses I think would have a bigger effect for example. if you sat a reasonable distance from camera I doubt you need the higher resolution. Also, higher resolut

For resolution it is just trying to pick up position of mouth, head, eyes. eyes is the hardest one. glasses I think would have a bigger effect for example. if you sat a reasonable distance from camera I doubt you need the higher resolution. Also, higher resolution will use up more cpu to process the images so you might find its more sluggish unless you have a powerful computer. I don't know if you can adjust down the resolution of a web cam.
If I was buying one, I would think about whether I want to use it for anything else. But my gut reaction is higher resolution or FPS than 30fps at 720p could actually just slow down your computer for no benefit. But it would be good for others with better cameras to s hare their experiences.

Hmm, you do have some very good points. Any Adobe rep's to confirm this hypothesis?

The advantages of having a newer Webcam would most likely be the ability of said camera and its better low light capabilities it would have over the FPS at which it can record at, allowing it to pick up the contrast of your face in a normal lit room better. This being said, if you can light yourself with a simple shop clamp light or the likes, and place yourself where there is good contrast between you and the background (Less Busy BG i.e blank wall, etc..) could have the most benefits of the software correctly picking up your movements correctly. Not needing the newest and greatest webcam which like others have said could be more of a CPU drain than its worth. A simple 720p Logitech webcam for $25.00 will do the trick just fine with good lighting.
