Guidelines and Tips for the Adobe Community

Adobe Community Guidelines

The Adobe Support Community is a platform that helps people deepen their knowledge of Adobe products and services, and connects learners to teachers. Because we are a community used by people of all ages, cultures, and by people at work, we carefully moderate the content in these forums.  Please help us keep them a safe and welcoming place for all members and abide by these community guidelines.

  1. Be Respectful:

We are a diverse and global community. Be respectful of different cultures, religions, languages, and identities of all participants. Language or media that offends, threatens, or insults an individual or group based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religious affiliation, serious disease or disability, caste, , gender, age, or sexual orientation is not welcome here. Additionally, we do not allow content that contains the following:

  • Nudity or pornographic material
  • Vulgar language like profanity or hate speech
  • Harassment and threats
  • Graphic violence
  • Illegal activities or goods
  • Self-harm or promotion of self-harm
  • Promotion of terrorism or violent extremism
  • Spam or advertisements

  1. Be Supportive:

We are a community designed to promote and encourage creative expression and a learning environment. Keep your posts, comments, private messages, and other communications on-topic, constructive, and encouraging.

  1. Be Safe:

Please do not share your personal information or reveal private information about other people (like home address, phone number, email address, serial number, or credit card information).

  1. Be Yourself:

Only upload your own work or content that you have permission to use.  Don’t use other people’s trademarks without permission or upload other people's work as if it is your own. We disable accounts that engage in deceptive or harmful behaviors, including:

  • Using fake profiles
  • Impersonating other people or entities
  • Falsely attributing someone else’s work
  • Using automated or scripted processes (such as bulk or automated following or appreciating of community comments, scripted commenting on conversation threads, etc.)

  5. Report Abuse on the Adobe Community:

If you ever experience a user violating the Community Guidelines, you can make a report to the community moderators.

How to report inappropriate content:

  • Below each message in the community, you will find an option labeled 'Report'
  • Click this button to report inappropriate content
  • A moderator will review the content as quickly as possible and take action.

For more information about what you can and can’t do on our platform, check out our Terms of Use.

Community Usage Best Practices

Choose the best location for your discussion. Please post in the board that's most closely related to your concern, even though posting in the first board you see may be tempting. This is your best chance to get a quick and correct answer. Utilize the Topic selection available with posting to help fellow users find your post more easily.

Supply pertinent information for more timely and effective answers. The more information you supply about your issue, the better equipped other community members will be to answer. Consider including the following in your question:

  • Adobe product and version number
  • Operating system and version number
  • The full text of any error message(s)
  • What you were doing when the problem occurred
  • Screenshots of the problem
  • Computer hardware, such as CPU; GPU; the amount of RAM; etc.

Be wary of users who pretend to be Adobe Employees to get access to your information. Beware of users purporting to be Adobe employees who are requesting your personal information or to gain access to your computer. All Adobe employees are required to have a red Adobe logo on their avatar and it says 'Adobe Employee' under their user name. You can report phishing attempts by either posting a message in our Community Help board or by emailing us here.

Self-promotion & Third Party services (addendum to Terms of Use 6.2 M)

  • The Adobe Support Community does not allow posts, screen names/user names, or private messages that include spam or advertisements. However, services or products (free or paid) that meet a need can be promoted in replies to questions, if and only if they are legitimate solutions to the customer's question. When directing customers to these services or products, you must be explicit if they are free or paid. Promotions will be considered as spam if they are not directly related to the original question. However, members of the Adobe Community Professionals program are permitted to include a weblink to their forums' signature if the website information is non-paying and would be helpful to the user’s post.
  • If you are interested in posting a brand new thread about a service or product that may be beneficial to others, be sure to provide context to why you are posting it (i.e. you have noticed it addresses a top issue and feel this resource will help other users). You must be very explicit that it is not an advertisement, but rather a helpful resource for others. Please also be clear if it is free or paid.

Re: Guidelines & Tips for the Adobe Forums

I'm glad you have these guidelines. I am a newbie and getting to the point where I'm afraid to ask questions on here. I try to search for what I need but sometimes feel overwhelmed by how much information there is on here. I feel judged a lot by many of the "old-timers" on here like maybe they forgot they were newbies once as these guidelines suggest we not do.

Re: Guidelines & Tips for the Adobe Forums

I am trying to upgrade my mid 2012 Mac Pro 5.1 so it will support Creative Cloud. We use Premiere, After Affects, Photoshop and illustrator. Can you recommend a video card that will support this software set for $300 or less?

Re: Guidelines & Tips for the Adobe Forums

Is there any help or user guide on how to use the site feature. I would like to find our when to use buttons like follow and find out if there are feature like the old inbox.  Many features seen missing  on this revamped site. I'm a senior and seen may changes over the years. Some are easy to to adjust other chances require a lot of effort and learning.  A user guide and a good search feature would be helpful the old search feature seems much better the the new search feature.

Hi JJMack, I wanted to thank you for the feedback you've given over the last couple of days! I am on the design team for the new site and I know big changes can be disorienting. I've brought up your concern for materials and guides for using the new site with the team and we're working on a plan to help with this for both the redesign and future site enhancements. – Allison

disorienting I can handle usability , bug, missing, poor formatting, you need to change quickly. The only positive remark I have seen is some can post image from their Phone.  I do not have a cell phone my land line phone can't do pictures.  Even the reply editor is is missing feature and the existing feature have problems, The one line sideways scrolling reply thing is awful

Maybe I was a bit too harsh in my previous post, but this Forum’s »Notifications« item just does not offer the convenience the Inbos offered.

The Notification feature is no substitute for the old inbox feature. An active user will turn off email notifications Who needs more junk mail?
