Version 25.5 doesn't exist

New Here ,
Oct 10, 2025 Oct 10, 2025

I am beyond confused,

I got super excited, 25.5 adds so many new effects, I find out a month late, no biggie, I can update the software and try it out... so I go on my mac.

Doesn't exist

I am stuck on 25.4.1... uh alright, that's fine, I'll check my windows PC!

Same thing.

I don't know what's going on, wether this is not available in the UK yet, but the update has been out for basically a month and I've seen no sign of it on my end, does ANYONE know what to do or how to get it? It even teased me with a "whats new: 90 new effects" DESPITE my version number.

Yes I have reinstalled Premiere pro... yes I have checked for updates... yes I have tried the links that lead to the new software update and installed via there... none of it works.

Yes I meet the minimum requirements, I have a R5 5600G and a GTX 1070, my other computer has a 4070 Super and a 5700X, both are definitely fast enough. I have an M1 mac (8gb model unfortunately), but both computers have 32gb of ram. I don't understand!!!!!

How did you install it if you're in the UK?

Hello and thank you for your reply! I've checked now, after reinstalling it seems everything is up to date EXCEPT the Creative Cloud Libraries Synchronizer, do you know how to update that specifically?

Suggested Solutions

1. Clear the Creative Cloud App Cache/Preferences (Most Likely Fix)

The Creative Cloud app sometimes gets "stuck" on an old version list, even after a program reinstall. Clearing its cache often fixes this:

For Windows:

Close all Adobe applications, including the Creative Cloud desktop app (make sure it's not just minimized to the system tray).

Navigate to the following folder and delete the contents inside the Cache folder:

C:\Users\<your_username>\AppData\Local\Adobe\Creative Cloud\Core\Cache

Restart your computer.

Open the Creative Cloud app and check for updates again.

For Mac:

Close all Adobe applications, including the Creative Cloud desktop app.

Navigate to the following folder and delete the contents inside:

~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync (You may need to hold the Option key while clicking the Go menu in Finder to see the Library folder).

Restart your computer.

Open the Creative Cloud app and check for updates.

2. Use the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool

This is a more aggressive clean-up utility provided by Adobe for when standard uninstalls and re-installs fail. It ensures all old configuration files, which might be preventing the update, are completely removed.

Download: Search for the "Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool" on Google and download it from the official Adobe website.

Uninstall: Use the standard OS method (or the CC app) to uninstall Premiere Pro 2025 (or version 25.4.1) and the Creative Cloud desktop application itself.

Run the Cleaner Tool: Run the tool and follow the prompts to clean up all Adobe Creative Cloud related entries.

Reinstall: Restart your computer. Reinstall the Creative Cloud desktop application.

Install Premiere Pro: From the fresh CC desktop app, install Premiere Pro. It should now offer the latest version, 25.5.

3. Check for Pending or Partial Updates

Sometimes an update is partially downloaded but stuck.

Open the Creative Cloud desktop app.

Go to the Apps tab.

Look for any mention of Premiere Pro having an "Update" button or a progress bar, even if it's not the main list.

Ensure that Auto-Update is toggled ON for all your apps, then try clicking "Check for updates" one more time.

I have actually done all of these steps too, including the cleaner and full reinstall, to no avail though. Still on 25.4.1, the creative cloud app seems to think it is the latest version, despite being a full reinstall..!?

Probably yes, I have talked to others under the same plan, they are also stuck on 25.4.1 as well, so it is probably that, but I am puzzled why it still hasnt been rolled out even with that consideration. I am on the enterprise plan, it is possible that the company themselves controls when the updates are available, I may have to escelate this to whoever manages this plan to actually get the updates.
