Many creative cloud users are reporting that in the past day windows explorer has become very slow with everyone experiencing the same problem. Clicking on folders/files in file explorer causes the cursor to flash 3 times and takes 2-3 seconds to load the folder/file on any disk drive.
The posts below are starting to pop up in reddit help communities and the common factor is that everyone has Creative Cloud installed. I am experiencing this myself on my work system. Adobe needs to get an emergency fix put out for this.

Thank you everyone for sharing the log files. We had a connect session with @Viki.Mellow and have identified the root cause and working on a fix for this. We will update on this same thread once we have the fix ready.

you fixed this by changing what?

Manpreet may have been referring to the previous post:
By @jaiyThe supposed creative cloud update was suppose to solve this problem, but it did not. However the changing of 'AdobeExplorerExtensionCore.dll' to 'temp_AdobeExplorerExtensionCore.dll' did resolve the issue.

correct, change the file name to temp_x( where x is folder original) resolved it. Thank you

You're welcome, and thanks for sharing.
Renaming a file deactivates it without actually deleting it so it can be restored if it doesn't solve the issue. Some files (like Preferences) create a new clean copy when they are renamed and PS is relaunched.
I don't know if a clean copy of AdobeExplorerExtensionCore.dll gets created after renaming — or not.

What is the solution, if all applications are updated, but the issue still appears?

did you
mac:
copy any important file to another folder and then delete Creative Cloud Files + <account type> + <profile_name> + <email> + <GUID> (for example: Creative Cloud Files Personal Account email@abc.com ####@AdobeID).
default location, Mac HD/Users/<Username>/Creative Cloud Files
windows:
Open the registry editor (regedit.exe) & naviagate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace You'll probably have two sub-keys. OneDrive's sub-key will be nameed '{018D5C66-4533-4307-9B53-224DE2ED1FE6}' Delete the other one, that will be Creative Cloud.

First of all, we prefer to store files local and share them with mechanism controlled by ourself, therefore we did never make use of the cloud. So there is nothing to copy. Also the sync service was paused in CC application.
I did both, even if we didn't have a Mac. There is a similar directory in the Windows user directory, and also had a look at the registry keys, where i did delete the second key. Nothing changed.
By now i found out if you rename the directory
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe OS Extension
to anything else, it will work as a charme.
But it would be nice if Adobe can offer a patch working for all.

Whatever you fixed is not working for me. I have updated Creative Cloud repeatedly without success ( CC version is 6.10.587). I'm still having this issue. Log file name AdobeLogs_20240320_031439_582-win-GS.zxp.

I have the problem mentioned in the original post - Adobe causing issues with Windows Explorer. I tried upgrading - that did not fix the issue. I've since renamed the Adobe Extension OS folder that another poster mentioned, which has fixed it - hopefully that sticks. I'll try renaming the dll if it doesn't.

I realize I'm extremely late to the party here, but I'm still having this issue. Everything Creative Cloud related is up to date, and I don't have a folder called "Adobe OS Extension" or a file called "AdobeExplorerExtensionCore.dll". Anyone have any suggestions?

Having the same issue. "Adobe OS Extension" folder doesn't exist, in either Program Files or Program Files (x86). File explorer can't find it hidden anywhere else, nor can I doing a thorough manual search. A reinstall and repair of Creative Cloud fixed the issue temporarily, but opening any Adobe software reintroduces the problem. I need to find and kill that .dll, but it's somehow either named something else or hidden from me.
Yes, I am showing hidden files/folders.

Sounds like you're in the same boat as me. I think the newer installations of the Creative Cloud app may have removed that .dll, but for at least some of us, the issue remains.

for windows owners that cannot rename the dll:
Open the registry editor (regedit.exe) & naviagate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace You'll probably have two sub-keys.
