Can't use passkey to log in to Creative Cloud Desktop App

Hi, community!

Does Adobe's passkey implementation leave a lot to be desired? Why can I log into my Adobe account just fine on my web browser, but when I try to log in to the Creative Cloud desktop app, it does not work? It tells me to try another option. It makes no sense. I have tried signing out, quitting, rebooting, deleting and recreating my passkeys to no avail.

Web browser sign in: passkey works great

Creative Cloud Desktop app sign in: passkey does NOT work.

I'm running on two machines: An M1 MacBook Pro and an M3 MacBook Pro. Same behavior on both machines.

Please don't refer me to the Adbobe "Having trouble signing in" or "How to use passkeys" documents. I've tried everything in them and I am super frustrated.

Thank you, but this is inaccurate.

I just used my passkey to sign in to Adobe to reply to your message. It works through the web, but not through the Creative Cloud app. That is my issue.

The option is literally in the settings it just doesn't work and 'I have to try later'.  The help as usual provides no solutions but follows Adobe's core strategy to use a workaround and suggests to use normal login & password.

i just used my iphone and added a passkey without problem.  i can't see any reason to do that for either my mac or pc because i've never had to sign in except when installing years agao.

what problem do you see @itsmetho ?

The problem is that I when creating passcode (dektop) it says try again later. I can image it works on mobile as companies pay more attention to mobile.

But, looks like it changed. I just tried again and now it tells me I have to install Adobe Account Access app. I have no other choice. OMG are they serious? They love to control everything don't they.

Fine to make the app but not allow 3rd party apps for this is insane so I'm not going to do that. I have perfectly functioning PW manager I use for creating passkeys.

Sorry I was completely mistaken and was reading first option of 2FA.

(still think an adobe app just to login is so wild)
