This is the second time one of my projects has been marked as spam! I've been on Behance for a few years and have posted around 29 projects, half of which have been featured by Behance. I have 8 "Best of Behance" projects and am a proud Behance Pro member.
Behance Page: https://www.behance.net/numinousagency
In the last 2 months, 2 of my projects have been marked as spam without any explanation. All of my projects follow the same layout, including those that have been featured. They consist of project images showcasing the design and identity process, along with links to my other social media and contact information (nothing new or out of the ordinary).
That’s it—no nudity, no solicitation, no selling. Yet, for the second time, a project of mine was flagged just 1 day after posting. It had already received 150 likes and is a project I'm very proud of. The first time this happened, I submitted a ticket but didn’t hear back at all. I ended up having to re-upload the project, losing the 350 likes it had already accumulated.
Has anyone else dealt with this? I would really appreciate any input on how to prevent this in the future. It's incredibly frustrating, especially considering Behance approached me to speak with their Pro team about improving the platform and its features.
I would love ANY input.

I'm just looking for help and highlighting a clear issue with one of Adobe's platforms. I thought this was a community area for Adobe-related issues. Behance is an Adobe product. If there isn't an accessible way to get help with problems like this within Behance, then isn't that a problem that affects everyone? The fact that I have to post here is part of the issue, that's all 😞

Hi Geo,
Sorry to bother you but can I ask you if you know how to get your projects back to normal? I was in the kind of same situation, I have a behance project I'm very proud of, it got 600 appreciations just in a week after I posted it up. And suddenly it got marked as spam & removed from Behance feed & search without any explanation and yet every single projects on my account got restricted also.
When I contact the Behance help center, I got nothing but the reply that my account was marked as spam for the violation of section 3 of Behance community guidelines, although I didn't do anything to be called violations. The Behance team seems to be surely convinced that I was violated the rules but I was not because of the great-growth of my project in a short time, left my project with restriction and can't be found on feed or search anymore. I want to cooperate with Behance teams to prove that I was wrongfully acused but there is no reply after that. Now I can't do nothing other than waiting for my account to be back in normal.
I just feel frustrated & disappointed about this problems, one of my proudest project just died like that. I don't know anything to do anymore, dying trying looking for help and I found your post, hopefully there is a way to solve this problem or if not, it's okay cause I finally found a case like me and know that I'm not the only one.
Thanks for reading, I'm appreciated alot!
Best regards,
Nhan

That's unbelievable!
My project that was marked as spam never got reinstated. I never heard back from them, so I ended up deleting and reposting it. Oddly enough, the same project that was flagged as spam went on to receive "Best of Behance" the following week. Clearly, something is seriously wrong with Behance’s new algorithm, and it's causing major issues.
Even stranger, a few weeks after my project was marked as spam, my entire account was blocked and set to private. I reached out to them through emails and DMs on every platform (Instagram, Twitter, etc.) explaining the issue, and it took about a week to resolve. This situation is making the platform unusable. I’m hesitant to post my best work for fear it might get flagged as spam due to high traffic or appreciations.
What’s worse is that when my account got locked, I had active client projects and proposals in my Behance DMs through their "Freelance Project" feature. All of those were canceled. This issue needs to be addressed—it's harming genuine creators who rely on Behance.
Sorry to hear this happened to you, Nhan. Could you send me a link to your account? I have heard from other freelancers that when this happens, the project should come back after 14 days or so. I cant confirm if this is true, but I've heard this from several Behance users.
Make sure to Email: support@behancenetwork.zendesk.com

Thanks for the reply, you help me a lot!

This is my latest project and the reason for all these things: https://www.behance.net/gallery/206603363/MOCO-Brand-Identity
Although I didn't get the spam content warning as you did, I was only trying to find it out after my project suddenly got removed from the search and feed (just in a day before it got ~500 views & 100 likes, a day after is nothing, try to search and there is nothing also). I did contact Behance Help & they replied through email that my account was marked as spam, violated the guidelines, and got a temporary restriction without further information.
My account was restricted so all of my projects were restricted also, I can't find any of them on the search. I asked them when my account could be back to normal but they replied that they couldn't tell and told me that I should not be engaged in such action to be restricted again. I was speechless because I did nothing wrong and deserved to be restricted.
This project is the project that I put the most effort into, hoping to get many likes or views or get featured if can. However, the reality turned out to be the complete opposite., the project was restricted due to high traffic, and I couldn't do anything besides wait for my account to be back to normal.
I only hope that Behance will find a more reasonable way to handle situations like this, rather than imposing arbitrary restrictions on genuine users who have done nothing wrong and are suddenly faced with such consequences.

My project got temporary marked as restricted due to heavy spam and traffic, how long is the 'temporary', How long does it take to make the account and project go back to normal?

probably depends on the severity of the offense.

Subject: Request for Second Review and Clarification Regarding Content Restriction
Dear Behance Support Team,
I hope you are well.
I am writing to respectfully request a second review regarding the restriction placed on my Behance account for spam policy violation, which has limited my content from being discovered by search.
After reviewing my account activity carefully, I would like to sincerely acknowledge that there may have been some mistakes on my part:
I had used similar titles and tags across multiple projects.
I engaged actively by liking many projects, which may have unintentionally appeared as engagement manipulation.
I recently uploaded a video advertisement, which may have contributed to the misunderstanding.
Please understand that none of these actions were intended to violate Behance’s policies. I am passionate about showcasing my original work and connecting with the creative community.
I am fully committed to correcting any issues immediately. If allowed, I am ready to:
Edit and diversify project titles, tags, and descriptions.
Remove any content that violates the guidelines.
Follow Behance's engagement practices more carefully moving forward.
I respectfully request a manual review of my portfolio. My only goal is to share authentic work and continue learning and growing within the creative community.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
I sincerely hope for your understanding and a chance to resolve this matter.
Assalamu Alaikum Sir. If you show me the problems, I will unpublish all of them. I will never make such a mistake again. I have a Pinterest account. I have a Gmail. Many of my designs are on Amazon. I earn money through this business. I also have a passport. I am a professional designer. Now if all my designs are unpublished through search from Discovery, then I will no longer receive client inquiries. I am a retired army man. This is my profession at present. Please solve the problem of my account. My link is https://www.behance.net/mustafizandgfx
Sincerely,
Md Mustafizur Rahman

I just got the same thing since 7 days ago, and today the problem is solved, you can contact them and explain this continuously, I think I have contacted them 4 to 5 times until finally my chat was replied and this problem was solved, I got excessive rate limit violations and I don't understand why my account can be limited like that even though I don't feel like I've committed any violation

Behance be like "Bro ur going viral so we r gonna restrict u hehe pls don't mind"
Also Creavora, how do I know the problem is solved and my new project views won't be restricted?
Also how I do know this won't happen next time?

I received the same message today, even though I have NO IDEA what rate limits are or how an account could be restricted for spam. They informed me that my account is restricted and no one will be able to find it or my projects. It's very frustrating to PAY for subscriptions and be boycotted by an algorithm no one understands. What should I do now? I emailed support and am waiting for a different response than the one they sent me, which basically said they couldn't do anything. So they expect 5 years of work to be thrown away for a mistake I have no idea how I could have made?

Hi,
Same here, it happened to me as well!
So I recently joined Behance because of some school project and I posted my first solo project which was an artwork (of lady justice with no nudity or anything that is offensive to anyone) like a week ago for fun. Then I logged out and the next day I found out my account was restricted with the reason spam. And I can't blame high traffic either because my first project just got like three likes in an hour before it was flagged spam and privated. I opened it today and I was shocked to find out my projects were privated and nobody can access it anymore. Of course, I am not someone dependent on Behance since it's just a new experience to me but it's disappointing to start a new and then just restricted the moment you join. I have contacted the behance team but looking at the replies here I doubt it will be resolved in a week.
It's kinda depressing though because it was new experience for me and I was actually excited for a site just for projects and people that appreciate it.
Thanks,
Trisha.
