Hi everybody - I teach in a computer lab with multiple students using the same desktop throughout the day., each logging in with their unique user profile to the machine and their own CC account. I have a new student who speaks absolutely no English, and after following the directions to switch his CC language preference to Spanish and reinstalling Photoshop, he can now use the app in Spanish. However - every student who sits down after him is also forced to use Spanish. In the Ps Preferences under Interface, there is an option to select a language - but there's always just one option, whichever option the app is installed in! Is there ANY way for the student to select which language they want to use on the machine? It seems like at a minimum this should be possible since each student is using their own unique computer login. I tried to install multiple instances of Photoshop, and that doesn't seem to work either? Any advice is appreciated!

no, the language can only be selected during installation.

I'm in the same boat.. I'm going to try to drag the spanish install over to a different location and see if that works. but adobe needs to allow multiple language installs on the same computer.

you would need to install a parallel os.

Same situation here. This has been a massive problem for years and an absolutely frustrating design choice. Please Adobe, make a simple switch inside your apps to change the language! It works fine in Media Encoder, so pleeeeeeease adapt your apps so they work like any other competing app out there.

I am aware of this, but the problem goes far deeper, that is why i added to the discussion of "Need multiple languages ON THE SAME INSTALL of CC apps" in the hopes that after years and years this could finally be solved. Why not make every app like Media Encoder where the language can be changed on the fly and intuitively inside the app and only for that app? It's clearly possible and would make using your apps so much better in a classroom situation with students of multiple different nationalities using workstations in multiple configurations each day.
One interesting aspect of the "solution" you link is that when i install an english version of i.e. Premiere Pro and a student wants to switch to German, that will work as described.
HOWEVER, if the next student wants to switch back, that no longer works and the app is stuck on German, no matter the setting in the Cloud app and even if i do a parallel install of the supposed English version. It's still German when I start the English app. I have tried on multiple machines and with multiple accounts, across multiple versions of the apps. Do not tell me that it works because it does not. The only solution is to go to the Cloud app, set the language to German, completely uninstall the program, set the language to English and do a fresh install.
And then the next student sets it to Spanish and the troubles start all over again.
This is incredibly frustrating for me and my students as this eats up valuable time in the classroom and there are multiple idioms floating around with those young designers about Adobe and the user experience that should concern you if you want them to use your apps in the future.
Please add the possibility to switch the language of an app inside the app.

you could create two different install directories for the two different languages. then in the settings, speicify one install language and one install location. then for the other, specify the other install language and other install directory.
the downside of this would be updates (for one of them) would require those settings changes each time an update was wanted.

Thank you for your reply. Another downside is that we don't just need two, but we have many international students. Along with the administrative tasks of keeping everything up to date and adding plugins and keeping those up to date, this would just fill up our harddrives.
Please just add the functionality of changing the language inside each app or at least the possibility of changing (and changing back!) the language without creating split app ecosystems that all require individual maintainance. It works for Media Encoder and it works for virtually every other app.

agreed, that work-around would be laborious/unworkable for an admin.

I do not use a PC, but on a Mac it is "easy" to have multiple languages installed, maybe a Windows computer can use something similar.
When installing an additional language, you do not install the entire application, but just a small Presets folder and some Settings files, around 30 mb for each language. To switch between languages after they have been installed, you need to switch the System language to the one you want.
Close Illustrator
To install these "language packs" go to the CC App > Settings > Apps and select the language from the Default install language list.
Click Done
In the Apps Updates you will see an update for the current version
Click Update (I keep my old versions as long as they will work)
Click Continue
It will take only a few seconds. You can repeat the process for other languages by selecting another one in the CC Apps Settings.
When I change the System language to one of the installed Illustrator languages (I do skip the restart), the app start in the requested language.
I can imagine that is not possible in an education environment, but maybe it can be scripted.
