Photoshop NOT showing under "All Apps" in CC

Contributor ,
May 03, 2023 May 03, 2023

Although Photoshop is installed on my Mac and has been for years, it is not showing in my list of installed apps ("All apps"). It is listed under "Available in your plan", as if Creative Cloud is unaware that I have the latest verision of Photoshop currently installed.

I am reluctant to install Photoshop since it is already installed. I am afraid to lose my settings and TK Panel, etc. Can I just point CC to Photoshop in some way?

@jonholcombe

use the cc desktop app install ps over the current installation.

you can open directly using your file browser.

once you do open > click help > check for updates to see if that leads to a fixed cc app

I opened Photoshop, checked for updates but nothing happened. Still not showing in the listed of installed apps. What would happen if  I "signed-out"?

reset the cc desktop app by making sure it's in the foreground, then press:

Win: Ctrl + Alt + R
Mac: Cmd + Opt + R

if that fails, repair per https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-install-stuck.html

if that fails, uninstall using the correct uninstaller from https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-mes... and then reinstall using*

if that fails, do a clean cc install carefully following each applicable step:

uninstall every cc app including preferences per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, again using the correct uninstaller per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-mes...

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

check for, and if available, update your os

if windows is your os, repair all ms visual c++ versions that can be repaired (use google if you don't know how to do this)

if windows is your os update your ms visual c++, if it can be updated (use google if you don't know how to do this)

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app using the "alternative download links" at the bottom of the page at https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-app-download.html

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials

NOTE: win 11 users that have trouble with the latest win 10 installer often have success with the older win 10 installer.

I tried to repair, uninstall, then install, but Photoshop is still not showing up in "All apps".

If i clean my computer of cc files and uninstall all cc apps, will I lose my Lightroom Library?

don't bother. as long as you have photoshop installed and operable, it's not worth going any further.  eg, the problem is minor and may disappear with the next cc app update.

==========

Creative Cloud does NOT display legacy Creative Suite apps, if that's what you're asking.

Only Creative Cloud apps that are compatible with your OS will be shown.

Make sure your computer meets the minimum CPU & GPU requirements. Most Creative Cloud apps work on:

  • Windows 11 (64-bit), Windows 10 versions 22H2, 21H2, 21H1;
  • MacOS 13 (Ventura), 12 (Monterey), macOS 11 (Big Sur).

That isn't what I'm asking. I am running the latest version of Monterey and the most recent version of Creative Cloud and  Photoshop, 24.4.

Photoshop suddenly stopped showing up in the list of installed apps.

Check Mac Finder for installed apps.  Is Photoshop 24 installed on your HD?

Good.  Then it's not related to this Photoshop Bug.

Actually, I am not so sure it isn't part of a Photoshop bug. A windows user TechByter posted this on that thread:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-bugs/ps-uninstalled-itself-plus-presets-lost/idi-...

"Until recently, Creative Cloud showed Photoshop as installed. Now it's not in the (1) installed list, but in the (2) "available" list even though it's (3) installed and runs properly. This is merely an annoyance because Photoshop starts and runs normally, but it would be helpful if it also appeared in the installed list."

I always launch apps directly from my computer's Start menu. I rarely open CC Desktop app unless there's a burning need to.

I open Photoshop from the Finder on my Mac. I keep the CC Desktop app open because CC warns me to keep it open when I try to close it.

But I am not sure what that has to do with the problem that TechByter and I have. Photoshop suddenly stopped showing up in the list of Installed Apps in the Creative Cloud app.

@jonholcombe

there are more fixes for this, but as mentioned previously, the problem is so minor it's not worth expending that much energy on it.  but if it's worth it to you, we can go into those other fixes.

If may be minor, but how will Creative Cloud advise me to update Photoshop 24.4, which is already installed and working, if CC is unaware that I already have it installed?

You described the fix earlier, but I am reluctant to remove all CC files from my Mac, because I have installed TK Panel in Photoshop, I have a massive Lightroom library, and I am afraid to potentially lose the existing library and development data for 137,000 photoa. Not to mention customized menus for Dreamweaver, Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.

I gures if I have to reinstall Photoshop alone, I would do that.

Hi, any updates on your situation? I have the same issue just with Lightroom, I'm not able to run an update (just have the 'install' option and I'm afraid to loose all the files by doing so).
