Can't download books to Adobe Digital Editions since I got a new Kobo Glo

I have used ADE and a basic Kobo reader for several years.  Then I bought a Kobo Glo and now I can't transfer downloaded books to the onscreen ADE interface, let alone transfer them to my Glo.  The ADE registers the Glo when I have it connected to the computer, but I can't download the books to the ADE
