Can't navigate book

Guest
Feb 19, 2015 Feb 19, 2015

I've downloaded a book, but can't turn pages, or navigate book via table of contents. I had a similar issue with another textbook reader and I had to change my preferences to 'use software based rendering' but I can't see how to change preferences in Digital Editions.

Thanks,

Danielle

what is the format of the book on which you are facing this issue (pdf or epub) ?

You can check the book type in item info dialog.

Please check the following:

1. Open the file in Adobe Digital Editions.

2. Go to File -> Item Info

3. Check the book name and extension under "Location"

Ideally, turning pages in ADE should not be a problem.

Still, if you are facing the issue, i think machine restart should address the problem.

Please restart your machine once and try.

Thanks !!

The book on which you are facing the problem, is it a free book or paid book?

is it the only book you are facing this problem or with other pdf's also ?

You can try by opening any pdf in ADE and try navigation.

I have an identical problem. I have Windows 7, and have tried restarting and reinstalling. The problem occurs for any pdf, even the "Getting Started" document.

The page number will shift when I press the arrow key, but the page view will not change. If I resize the window screen, the page view will update to the correct page.

I have this exact same issue as well. Resizing, or closing and re-opening the application fixes the issue

Thanks Reym, but resizing or opening and closing doesn't fix the problem for me. I have tried other documents including epub. Same problem.

ok, now let us compare the system environment as this issue should not have happened.

Do you have any service pack installed for Windows 7.

You can check this in:

Control panel ->System-> View basic information about your computer.

Capture.PNG

After checking this, check version of Microsoft .NET FRAMEWORK version.

You can check this under: Control panel->Programs and Features -> Uninstall or change a program.

Just check the version number.

I have Windows 7 enterprise Service Pack 1 - same as your image.

Microsoft .NET FRAMEWORK version: The 'name' column says 4.5.2, the column entitled 'version' says 4.5.51209
