Just started today: error Unable to download Error getting License Server Communication Problem: E_ADEPT_NO_FULFILLMENT_RESULT for books purchased on Google Play.
I purchased a new book and received this error. I then tested other Google Play books I own and get the same error on all of them now even though I had previously been able to fulfill them. I then tested books I borrowed from my local library and it fulfills all of them with no problem.
So far I have found very little of use in researching this error. Anybody else getting the same issue fulfilling google play purchased books? Any solutions?
I had the same problem and the special person virtual assistent (just ended the chat manually) left me hanging. In the end I found a workaround kind of... I downlowd the acsm onto my PC with Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) installed and authorized. There I drag/drop the acsm in and get the certification. Afterwards I open the ADE library, which contains the epub. I copy the epub then onto my e-reader (tolino).
Hope this will help someone. Then I would have done a better job than Adobe themself 😄

I have the exact same problem starting yesterday. I tried contacting Google Play support, and went through all the usual steps (disable firewall, reinstall ADE, reauthorize ADE) and the problem persists. I tried to contact Adobe support but they don't offer support for ADE.

Same here. And it seems a lot of people are having problems but adobe keep deleting the post. I cannot find another recent post which talks about this problem anymore.

I called google play customer support service for this problem, but it didn't be solved. I think we need to ask google to tell adobe to solve it.

I have the same problem.
Last Friday, I bought several magazines from kobo and google play.
The books bought from kobo were downloaded normally.
But the books from google play were NOT, getting the same error message.
Ihad tried redownload the other book bought form google play before that without any problem.
I search and find the description as below:
This error occurs during fulfillment if ADE is not happy with the response from the server, meaning, it received neither an <error> nor a fulfillmentResult token. This is an error with the distributor's server and nothing you can fix yourself.
Is it means that we had nothing to do for this problem?

Same problem here with books bought from Google Play Books. Started a couple of days ago. Tried many ways without success: deauthorising/authorising ADE, uninstalling/reinstalling ADE, using different laptop, using different networks, even downgrading from Windows 11 to Windows 10.

could anyone decrypt the server return ?

I did install Fiddler to capture http requests and see that the response is a 404 error when trying to fulfill the acsm file. So far Google has not provided a solution or even responded.

Same here. Spent an hour with Google support and nothing worked. Temporarilly disabled firewall, nothing. Checked time and date settings, nada.
I discovered the problem yesterday when I purchased a new ebook from the Google Play Store, but the error appears with all of my previous purchases as well.

Also tried deauthorizing/authorizing. As of right now there appears to be no fix.
Arghhh!

Exactly the same here. I really don't care whether it is a Google or Adobe problem. It is a new problem that they must fix urgently.

Error has changed to E_ADEPT_INTERNAL. I haven't tried any fixes since yesterday, so I assume that attempts to repair are going on behind the scenes.
Sorry that all of you are alos in this mess, but it actually comforts me that so many people seem to be having this problerm as it increases the liklihood that Adobe will do something about it.

Just got my response from Google and it was all the stuff I've tried (deauth, reauth, unistall ADE, etc), but at the end of the email they said this:
"You can also check whether http://adeactivate.adobe.com/ is blocked. If it's not blocked, you should see "Welcome to Digital Editions.""
For me that link is giving me a 404, does it work for anyone else?
I was under the impression from this thread and others that the Google Fulfillment server (http://books.google.com/books/acs4/fulfillment) was giving a bad response and causing ADE to fail, but could it be something else?
I'm at the point of requesting a refund from Google for my entire library if this persists as right now its a bunch of unusable acsm files.

so if the adeactivate link is giving a 404 (I get the same thing) it means it's just not there anymore, not that it's blocked. So as of now we have a 404 on both the Adobe and Google side? Given that a bunch of people have books working from other places (and nobody has reported an error from anywhere other than Google) my money is on it being Google's fault.

I also bet on Google's fault .

Google support responded to my chat/emails and I sent info from my Fiddler http capture showing a 404 response that I interpret as coming from their URL books.google.com/books/acs4/fulfillment/fulfill . While they have not acknowledged it is their problem, they did give me a google play credit. They also escalated to a "higher tier". So at least they are going beyond their scripted troubleshooting.
The 404 response from http://adeactivate.adobe.com/ is interesting, but that URL was not in my capture, so not sure it is directly relevant.
I did another Fiddler capture today and the 404 error from books.google.com is gone!
Just a normal 200 result. However the fulfillment still fails, but with a different error from ADE: E_ADEPT_INTERNAL.
So perhaps this is progress?

Also tried this posted on Adobe support wensite for that error. https://helpx.adobe.com/digital-editions/kb/error-e-adept-internal-download.html
It did not fix the problem.
