error E_ADEPT_NO_FULFILLMENT_RESULT for books purchased on Google Play.

Just started today: error Unable to download Error getting License Server Communication Problem: E_ADEPT_NO_FULFILLMENT_RESULT for books purchased on Google Play.

I purchased a new book and received this error. I then tested other Google Play books I own and get the same error on all of them now even though I had previously been able to fulfill them. I then tested books I borrowed from my local library and it fulfills all of them with no problem.

So far I have found very little of use in researching this error. Anybody else getting the same issue fulfilling google play purchased books? Any solutions?

I had the same problem and the special person virtual assistent (just ended the chat manually) left me hanging. In the end I found a workaround kind of... I downlowd the acsm onto my PC with Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) installed and authorized. There I drag/drop the acsm in and get the certification. Afterwards I open the ADE library, which contains the epub. I copy the epub then onto my e-reader (tolino).

Hope this will help someone. Then I would have done a better job than Adobe themself 😄

I've been trying for several weeks to get my google play books with varying errors.

I'm not even sure I am doing it right since it's been broken the whole time.

Are you supposed to authorise with your Adobe ID? a separate google id?

    I experienced the same thing
I've done all of solutions you could've possibly found on google
If I can make a summary, it happens for period of time
Then it will be back to normal again, hopefully
I've waited for hhmm 5 days or so since the last time I can use my ADE to open ebook from google

Google saids the problem is within ADE
But many people mentioned that the problem is with the ebook in the first place
(Error getting license, which means ebook license)
And none you can do about it other than waiting for them to fix internally
and secretly I guess (they always blame ADE)
(Though I only found 1 post that actually mentioned google support admitted this but the post is from couple of years back)
which goes to say this is a repetitive occurrence that has been happening without any solutions other than to wait

For those that claimed their way works, my guess is by the time they've done it coincidentally with the time google already fix the problem

I even tried to refund the ebook book but didn't get approved
I've read that one of the members of community got her refund approved

and even got an extra voucher for her trouble
But I guess they don't have standard operating procedure in place
    She just got lucky

I'm thinking of starting to buy ebook from other place if this is not going to be fix anytime soon

My error is E_ADEPT_INTERNAL. Anyone worked at google and know how long does it take for them to fix this problem?

I'm working with Google on this. They did not provide an ETA. Last email 11/17 included this:

"Rest assured that our engineering team is working with Adobe around the clock to resolve the issue as soon as possible. We'll update you as soon as got an update from our internal team as well. "

Does anyone get updates from Google / Adobe?

I received limited correspondance from Google. The last one was yesterday at 11 AM CT. I'm waiting for a response on the  new E_ADEPT_INTERNAL error message. Also I informed them the 400 error in my http capture is gone. If they send me an update, I'll post it here.

I had an online chat with Adobe support. It was not encouraging. Here are key comments from the chat.

me: Ongoing issue with fulfilling books from Google Play in Adobe Digital Editions. Here is URL to the thread in the community discussion. https://community.adobe.com/t5/digital-editions-discussions/error-e-adept-no-fulfillment-result-for-books-purchased-on-google-play/td-p/13343967

agent: Alright I would like to inform you Bob Adobe discontinued Adobe digital edition this is the reason you are getting error.

me: What? That can't be correct. It's still on your website here. https://www.adobe.com/solutions/ebook/digital-editions/download.html and it still works for books purchased from other sources or borrowed from libraries...

Please provide me a link showing the ADE is end of life.

agent: As the information is not updated on website yet so I am not able to share any article , It will be update asap than you can also Please do share your contcat num with us.

So we'll see what comes out of that.

Things are going from bad to worse. I just tried to export an ebook that I own from the Google Play Store and was redirected to a page with the following: The requested URL (URL for the book I was trying to export) was not found on this server. That’s all we know.

It looks like perhaps this was a Google problerm all along and not Adobe?

But at least they seem to be working on it because the error keeps changing...

Yeah, the Google Play Store did that to me too ((not found on this server) while I was troubleshooting with them, but it worked on the 3rd try.

My error is now also  E_ADEPT_INTERNAL which I'm assuming is a good sign :🤷‍♂

Just got my response from Google and it was all the stuff I've tried (deauth, reauth, unistall ADE, etc), but at the end of the email they said this:

"You can also check whether http://adeactivate.adobe.com/ is blocked. If it's not blocked, you should see "Welcome to Digital Editions.""

For me that link is giving me a 404, does it work for anyone else?

I was under the impression from this thread and others that the Google Fulfillment server (http://books.google.com/books/acs4/fulfillment) was giving a bad response and causing ADE to fail, but could it be something else?

I'm at the point of requesting a refund from Google for my entire library if this persists as right now its a bunch of unusable acsm files.

so if the adeactivate link is giving a 404 (I get the same thing) it means it's just not there anymore, not that it's blocked. So as of now we have a 404 on both the Adobe and Google side? Given that a bunch of people have books working from other places (and nobody has reported an error from anywhere other than Google) my money is on it being Google's fault.

    I also bet on Google's fault .

    November 15, 2022

Same here. Spent an hour with Google support and nothing worked. Temporarilly disabled firewall, nothing. Checked time and date settings, nada.

I discovered the problem yesterday when I purchased a new ebook from the Google Play Store, but the error appears with all of my previous purchases as well.

    November 15, 2022

Also tried deauthorizing/authorizing. As of right now there appears to be no fix.

    Arghhh!

    I have the same problem.

Last Friday, I bought several magazines from kobo and google play.

The books bought from kobo were downloaded normally.

But the books from google play were NOT, getting the same error message.

Ihad tried redownload the other book bought form google play before that without any problem.

I search and find the description as below:

    https://github.com/Leseratte10/acsm-calibre-plugin/wiki/Adobe-error-codes#e_adept_no_fulfillment_result

    E_ADEPT_NO_FULFILLMENT_RESULT

This error occurs during fulfillment if ADE is not happy with the response from the server, meaning, it received neither an <error> nor a fulfillmentResult token. This is an error with the distributor's server and nothing you can fix yourself.

Is it means that we had nothing to do for this problem?

Same problem here with books bought from Google Play Books. Started a couple of days ago. Tried many ways without success: deauthorising/authorising ADE, uninstalling/reinstalling ADE, using different laptop, using different networks, even downgrading from Windows 11 to Windows 10.
