error E_ADEPT_NO_FULFILLMENT_RESULT for books purchased on Google Play.

Just started today: error Unable to download Error getting License Server Communication Problem: E_ADEPT_NO_FULFILLMENT_RESULT for books purchased on Google Play.

I purchased a new book and received this error. I then tested other Google Play books I own and get the same error on all of them now even though I had previously been able to fulfill them. I then tested books I borrowed from my local library and it fulfills all of them with no problem.

So far I have found very little of use in researching this error. Anybody else getting the same issue fulfilling google play purchased books? Any solutions?

I had the same problem and the special person virtual assistent (just ended the chat manually) left me hanging. In the end I found a workaround kind of... I downlowd the acsm onto my PC with Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) installed and authorized. There I drag/drop the acsm in and get the certification. Afterwards I open the ADE library, which contains the epub. I copy the epub then onto my e-reader (tolino).

Hope this will help someone. Then I would have done a better job than Adobe themself 😄

I’ve had a problem with downloading books on my e-reader but it can work if you download it via dropbox. I have a pocketbook btw

    • Download the book on your computer/laptop

    • Download adobe digital editions onto your laptop as well and open the downloaded book in adobe digital editions

    • make a dropbox account and also log into your drop box account on the ereader (with a pocketbook you go to settings -> accounts -> Dropbox and then log in

    • on the Dropbox website when you go to your files there should be one synced with your ereader upload the book into that file

    • get on your ereader and go back to the settings-> accounts -> Dropbox-> syncing (click that so it can syncs the books from your laptop to your ereader)

    • then i was able to open and read my new downloaded books. I hope it will work with yours too

The problem is that Google Books is, for the vast majority of their books,
no longer offering downloads of the ACSM book file. So it's not possible to
download Google purchased books to a computer.

First off, don't buy books through Google Play. Google Support will not willingly fix this issue.

I managed to get a refund on a book I bought from them that had the same error. First I contacted Google Support, but they were useless and wouldn't acknowledge this issue. I wound up filing a complaint with the BBB (Better Business Bureau). Only after multiple emails exchanged, first with Google support, then with a Google employee answering my complaint did this get resolved. For me, I will never again buy from Google Play.

I understand this issue's last post was Nov. 2022, but this issue has cropped up for me. I had been buying books from Google Play (switched over from Kindle after buying a Pocketbook ereader) when I ran into a problem with one $3.00 book I bought.  But I sensed a problem when the book was not syncing with my Pocketbook account. So I tried to dl the ACSM file from Google page but it wasn't available.

I contacted Google through their "Support" group and was royally jerked around. Even though the book page had a blurb about being able to download a file for ereaders like the Kobo. I fought with them for 10 days before they relented and refunded my $3.

But, today I am noticing that almost every Google Play ebook has no ACSM file available, which means they won't sync with the PB account. So I guess I need to buy books from either Kobo or Amazon who appear to still offer dl's. I would never buy merchandise through Google again anyway, given the hard time they gave me over $3.

Anyone else with info on this?

Re-downloaded the two books I was trying to get and they both worked in ADE. The original ACSM files I had downloaded still threw back errors.

The problem fixed for most of my books. Only one book got a message of: E_GOOGLE_DEVICE_LIMIT_REACHED, but I guess it's another issue. Google will not fix this one right now though.

I can see the acsm file could be opened, but the acsm file download on Google Play has not yet resumed.

    This is what I got today;

How to download books from Google Play
Important: The Adobe Digital Editions export service is unavailable at this time. We are working to resolve this issue. ADE books already opened from a .ACSM and DRM-free downloads are still supported. To read any book offline, you can also use the Play Books Android app and iOS app.

Trying to export ascm for DRM book on google play to be able to read it on ADE so I can tranfer it to my ereader.

Yes, that's what happened since few days ago.
But today you cannot even export the ebook from google play book (which got nothing to do with ADE at all)
with note that the export option is available on the ebook

And the same export issue today. I don't have a recent email from the open Google support case, but will ask them for an update tomorrow or Saturday.

Exporting google books and open it to Adobe Digital Editions and hoping that it will work as per normal has been my daily routine for the past week or so
But today, I couldn't even export them
I'm being re-direct to their Help Centre and unable to export
In the bottom left of the windows there's a tiny notification
Does this means we cannot open ebook bought from google because they haven't paid something they were supposed to pay, and ADE doesn't have to do with all of this problem?
And side note: their google chat assistance also missing, somehow
