I have downloaded library books onto my laptop into a file. When I try to drag them into Adobe I get a message that says Error check activation.

I have downloaded library books into a file on my laptop. When I try to drag them into my Adobe Digital Editions I get a message that says " Error check activation. " What am I doing wrong?
