Decal wont properly fill - Dimension

Hi all, quick question about decal filling

So i have a plane thats 14mm by 16 mm.

I want to fill that plane with an image that is also 14mm by 16mm.

When i place the decal the image loses its proportions and becomes distorted. Now i have to manually put it back in the correct proportion.

If i use the fill instead of decal function it gets even worse when the whole thing just stretched way beyond the full plane.

Any one knows how to easily fill 1 plane?

Thank you

With this i got it to work somewhat. Sadly if you use a cube instead of a plane it will fill weirdly even if you select only 1 plane.
I now have a cube and a plane grouped together with the image on the plane.
Its not the best way but it works for now.

    Thank you

    yes;

    1. set the plane to the correct size for the image I use the menu for this but unlock it so you can set whatever size you need *X + Z [not X + Y]
    2. add a decal... any of the default images will do
    3. replace the default decal with your image
    4. set the type from decal to fill... as long as we are talking about an image and not AI file it works

yes they buggered cubes with the tile system to make the new materials work in Dimension but a repeat of X3 X4 should get you in the ballpark for a single face

p.s, when you only want one face of a model... best results = give that face a different material to the others

I have marked your answer correct because you got it working so others may find this useful but feel free to keep asking questions or start a new thread mate

    Hi Stijn,

As the decal will not properly fill in Dimension, you can try adding multiple decals and see if it helps.

Could you please check this article and let us know if it helps? Apply materials and graphics to 3D models

    Regards,
