How to add new material presets in Adobe Dimension Library ?

Hi,

I'm using this Adobe Dimension for last 2 days and I'm enjoying it and I found it useful for me in some aspects, but I got some problems with how to add new materials in Adobe Dimension Library ?

I have some substance material with .SBSAR format and some other material with .MTL format and I want all those materials to be added in Dimension's Material Library.

Please help me with this.

Thanks,

Rit

Correct answer davescm

The best workflow is to export the object to Substance Painter, apply the sbsar material there then use Substance Painter's Export Textures >Adobe Dimension to export the object and applied materials into Dimension

Sorry, I don't use Substance much, its ok but when I need a material that is not in the starter ui, my workflow is to get one from Adobe Stock or just build it myself in mdl

Mtl is an old school standard for working with [importing] Obj files i.e, import this texture found in folder A or just colour it red, blue etc... its not designed as a material maker

p.s, I'll ask the other acp's for you... maybe one of them knows a Substance workflow

i use the mdl system to make custom materials... that is the NVIDIA default for all 3D software

the only way I know to add them to the ui is to hack them into Dimension system files which isn't something I recommend

OK, but what is the use of other Substance Materials which are not in the starter assets if it can't be imported into Dimension Library ?
