how to place graphics on the perimeter of a simple square

I need advice on how to place graphics on the perimeter of a simple square, for example 20x30 cm, 10 cm high. When I create a 100x10 cm graphic and place it on a square, I can't place it around the entire perimeter, it always only fits over 2 sides. I can't figure out the best way to place it at some beginning of the coordinates, from where it would wrap the entire square around.
