Adobe Premiere CC says its up to date, but isn't allowing my to update to latest version (8.2)

I have a project file saved to a newer version of Premiere from my work, but I am not allowed to open it from my home computer since the version of Premiere I have at home is 8.0. When i try to download an update from CC, it tells me it is up to date. NEED HELP ASAP!!!!

Launch Premier Pro and then click on  Help >  Update. Check if you can see the update there.

thanks for your quick reply, sam. really weird -- the update option under Help > Updates is shaded out. I've exhausted every option proposed online (restarting/signing out of CC/deleted-reinstalling Premiere) and nothing seems to work. i'm at my wits end at this point!!!
