The last month, month and a half, after one of the latest updates, this annoying red dot is about always there.
It goes away after clicking the icon (and the Creative Cloud window appears with nothing new), but it's back when my computer wakes up the next day.

I don't have a clue why.
There are no messages, no available updates and I don't see any setting that might cause this dot to be there.

Can someone tell me how to get rid of it before it pulls out my eye and suck it up?

Could it have to do with "syncing"? I have a Photography subscription, I use Lightroom Classic and I don't use the cloud.

Have you Turned OFF the option to Start Creative Cloud with the system as I described in the other conversation?????

If not then you will Always have that icon and wou Will see a Red dot on it every now and then.

As I said before you do NOT need to have the CC DTA running to use all other Adobe applications.

Hi @Pedro Downunder,

If you insist on knowing the exact working on how that red dot appears and why it appears when it should not then neither @kglad nor me or mostly anyone on these forums can authoritatively comment on it, since we are not the one's who coded this application nor did Adobe provide us with any internal knowledge of their products. What we try to do is help people based on our expereince with the product and also due to our past knowledge of similiar issues. So the gist of the matter is that the answers you are seeking can be had only from an Adobe employee and I would not direct you to the support staff as well, as I don't expect even them to have this level of technical knowledge on the inner workings of the application.

Indeed Manan,
What you say and what this thread illustrates is that Adobe use the goodwill of its customers to provide practical suggestions and technical support to themselves, in the place of responsibile corporate customer relations.

On top of this Adobe appear to set up endless road blocks to their customers contacting them, in search of simple answers to pertinent questions. As customers of Adobe we are asked to observe certain "community guidelines" in this forum. However, this is a company that does not observe the excellent customer service provided by smaller software vendors, who operate on a fraction of Adobe's profits. That all this is broadly accepted without comment is one of the idiocies of the world we live in.
