Creative Cloud New Install - Error Code: 44

New Here ,
Jul 05, 2016 Jul 05, 2016

Hi,

I've got a problem, I'm trying to install Creative Cloud for the first time. I'm using Windows 10 Pro, Avira Anti-Virus (free version, disabled) and Windows Firewall reset to default.

The Adobe Installer dialog box opens and shows the download process. This gets to about 45% and shows an error:

We've encountered the following issues:

Installer was unable to create a critical fire/directory. Please try installing again. (Error code: 44)

I have deleted all Adobe related directories in "Program Files", "Program Files (x86)", "%temp%", "%appdata%\..\local".

I've run the program "AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool.exe" which opens then closes immediately, assuming there's nothing to clean!?

I have also run the program contained within the "Creative Cloud Uninstaller.zip"

I have also move the "CreativeCloudSet-up.exe" file to the desktop and run it from there.

Any other help will be appreciated

Anthony

That may be a permission problem

Run as Administrator http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969395 to assign FULL permissions may help... says Encore, but sometimes required for ALL Adobe programs (this is NOT the same as using an Administrator account)

This doesn't help, thank you for responding.

Any other suggestions?

Anthony

* Edit: It's also worth mentioning that I've created a new administrator account and tried installing that way.

Ackrynom,

The problem has been fixed for me. I simply allowed the Adobe Tech Support guy take over my PC via a remote desktop app and they got it all working

Follow THIS LINK and from the "Your contact options" select "Chat", explain your problem (Error Code: 44) and if asked to take over your PC then allow them. Yes it seems weird allowing a stranger access to your computer but it's so much quicker to fix that way.

All the best

Anthony

Adobe Support Chat Option.png

This is the option you need to select!

Try starting from the beginning...

Contact Customer Care

Select...

  1. Creative Cloud
  2. Downloading, installing, setting up
  3. Downloading and installing

Click the blue button labelled "Still need help? Contact us."

Select the "Chat" option like in the picture above?

Hope that helps

Anthony

The guy that took over my PC downloaded a ZIP file and installed CC from that. I've uploaded the ZIP file for you to download if you wish.

There are no viruses in the ZIP file trust me but feel free to run your own scan.

Adobe CC Mega Download.png

Select the option highlighted above, wait for download to complete. In the meantime clear any Adobe stuff from "%localappdata%", "Program Files", "Program Files (x86)" and temp folder "%temp%". Also run the "AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool.exe" by right clicking and selecting run as admin.

Extract the downloaded ZIP and run "Set-up.exe".

That SHOULD install for you 😕 (hopefully)

Anthony
