Creative Cloud stuck on initializing

Explorer ,
Apr 20, 2025 Apr 20, 2025

I can access other installed apps like Lightroom, Photoshop… but I have to log in to those apps individually. Moreover, without access to Creative Cloud, I cannot update or install other Adobe apps that are not previously installed on my comuter.

My Creative Cloud has been like this for over a month now, it would get stuck at “initializing Creative Cloud” then continues to load until it exits and display the above message. I have tried a numerous fix but none solves the problem, including:

- Click “repair” (it gets stuck in a loop of downloading, installing then goes back to the pop-up again) (Popup in attached image)

- Uninstall from Windows settings then reinstall

- Uninstall using the uninstaller then reinstall

- Used AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool then reinstall

- Reinstall VC_redistx64 2015-2022

- Run “sfc /scannow” and “DISM” multiple times without any errors

Attached image is Adobe service terminated unexpectedly in event viewer.

Here is the log from installers from the last attempt to reinstall Creative Cloud:

After restart, the app gets stuck in initializing again. I have done some more extensive troubleshooting steps and have had some findings.

- The Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop application consistently fails to initialize (gets stuck on the "Initializing" screen) when launched after a system restart or after installed.. Uninstaller and cleaner tool is irrelevant for the issue that I'm having. Launching the Creative Cloud app using "Run as Administrator" makes the app works again. This ruled out any

Do you mean disconnect the wired as well as the wireless, or disconnect the wired and go back to wireless?

It appears there is an issue when connected via a wireless connection. The issue has not occured since while connected to a wired connection (so far).

Hi,

I don't know if a true solution has been found, but I did manage to get eveything working proper.

I contacted Adobe support and told them about the issue I was having and asked if I could get full offline installers for my software. The rep told me that he has seen the issue before and provided me with the offline installers for my software. Before I tried installing anything I made sure that CC was uninstalled and used the CC cleaner tool just for good measure. Once I did this I restarted my PC and installed my software using the offline installers support provided me.

This allowed me to install my programs and have everything working as they should, including CC as it gets installed with other Adobe software when using an offline installer.

To sum everything up

  • uninstall Adobe software (make sure to use the CC Cleaner Tool )
  • restart computer
  • install Adobe software with full offline installers (provided by Abode support)

Hopefully this helps.

i was trying to determine if your wireless never works with adobe.

anyway, we'll see if you have any problems when cc needs to reconnect with adobe servers.

In reply to @kglad CC used to work with the wireless connection with no issues.

I have started experiencing this issue within the last week or so.

So far, the issue does not occur at all when connected via a wired connection.

it's hard to imagine anything on adobe's side that would be able to detect a wireless vs wired connection, let alone have a problem with one and not the other.

@kglad I have been monitoring what happens since your reply a week ago, and found the issue does not happen at all while connected to the network via a wired connection.

The issue only occurs (in my case) when connected via a wireless connection (to the same network).

Would that suggest there may be some very specific network settings required for Adobe CC to function with no issues via a wireless connection?

you can try whitelisting adobe's end points:

@kglad Having monitored the situation for a few more days, I have noticed my other devices have occasionally been losing the wireless connection to my router.

I'm now thinking the issue in my case is the router and not with Adobe CC.
