CS6 to Mac book PRO 2019

Hello, I purchased the CS6 design standard years ago and still have the box and disk. My compurer recently died and I was told that I could transfer the applications to the new Mac book PRO 2019 that I just purchased. I cannot figure out how to do this however, Is it possible or was I given the wrong information?

Who told it?
If you're talking about an Apple agent, it's better to think that you don't even know the information about individual applications.
macOS is very incompatible with the past, so there is no guarantee that older applications will work.
Certainly, migrating your environment with Time Machine or installing an application is not a guarantee that you can do it.
For Mac, if you introduce a new environment, you will be forced to update the application.
This is Apple policy.

1. INSTALLATION In my experience moving programs from one computer to another never works.  You need to run the installation routine from disks or downloads.  

 

2. LICENSE If you had a student / teacher or volume license or CS6 was purchased from a vendor other than Adobe, you must use your original disks or downloads because your serial number is attached to that media.   If you purchased an individual license directly from Adobe, sign-in to your account portal to obtain a download link.

3. OPERATING SYSTEM Which OS do you have right now?  You will need an older OS to support legacy CS6.  As already stated, CS6 won't work on Catalina.   And the legacy CS installers won't work on Sierra or higher.  You will need to use workarounds.  See link below for details.

4. MODERNIZE Replace your outdated software with Catalina compatible Creative Cloud versions.

    Good evening, JacquiGiebels.
    If the Mac Book Pro's OS is Catalina (10.15), CS6 will not work due to the elimination of 32-bit support for the OS, but do you know the OS version of Mac Book Pro?

      If the new computer runs Catalina, it is impossible to run old apps like CS6. You needed a budget for all new apps. CS was replaced by the subscription-only Creative Cloud.
