error code: DF024

I initially had Illustrator CS6 downloaded right away and was using it when I first got the Adobe Creative Suite 6, which was in 2013. Since then, sometime in 2014 it somehow had gotten uninstalled on my mac. I finally decided to try redownloading it to my computer because I paid for it, and I need to use it! So frustrating. I keep getting the error code: DF024

This is the entire message that shows up:

Does anyone know what this means? I really need to use the program.

Click on the below link and run the Adobe Cleaner tool and check, if present remove Illustrator .

Do not select Clean all option . it will remove All Adobe Apps.

If present , select Illustrator and then click on " Clean up selected"   button .

Then try to install Illustrator again.

If it not present under Adobe Cleaner tool list , let me know .

Error DF024 states that the previous un-installation of the application  was not successful , the residue folder still exist and affecting new installation process.

When you run the Adobe Cleaner tool , check if you can locate Illustrator core option , if present remove it .

Illustrator is not present on the clean up....

Navigate to Applications > Utilities.

Under Utilities, locate folder named Adobe Installers.

open it and let me know whether you can see Uninstaller file for Illustrator ??

And

Is the Adobe Illustrator CS 6 folder is present under Applications folder ?

It wasn't in there either, but I did go to the applications folder, clicked a few things. Then tried reinstalling it, this time it happened to work! Thank you for your help, I appreciate it.

Kelly Leary: Help - I have now been on hold for 2 hours waiting for someone to help me. I installed Adobe photoshop elements 2018 and after it took 3 hours to install I got and exit code: 6 and a error : DF024. Can't find anything in the forums to help fix this problem. Please help

Kelly Leary: I looked in my control panel and I have the following: Adobe connect 9 add-in, adobe flash 28 NpApi, Adobe Photoshop Elements, and Adobe Acrobat.

If I uninstall it will it let me reuse my 1 user serial #?
