Here's my problem:
I have the Adobe CS2 Production PREMIUM.
I had to uninstall it because of a virus.
I tried to re-install it from the discs but I can no longer install from the discs - so I called the phone # and was
sent here - https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=cs2_downloads - Friday to download my CS2 Production Premium.
I've downloaded all the files, installed and activated all of the software but I'm still missing many of the effects that I used to have.
So I came back to the chat yesterday and asked how to get the files that I'm missing.
I was told that CS2 is too old and to go to the forum to ask.
On the forum everyone tells me that the page I was sent to has what I'm looking for - but I don't see it.
The CS2_install_Win.pdf says there should be 7 files for CS2 Premium and 5 files for CS2 Basic.
This site only gives me the 5 files for CS2 Basic - but NOT the 2 other files for CS2 PREMIUM.
The 5 CS2 Basic files I can get from this site are:
1-CreativeSuiteCS2Disc1.exe
2-CreativeSuiteCS2Disc2.exe
3-CreativeSuiteCS2Disc3.exe
4-CS_2.0_WWE_Extras_1.exe
5-VCS2.zip
The files NOT on this site are:
CreativeSuiteCS2Disc4.exe & CS_2.0_WWE_Extras_2.exe
Where can I get these missing files so that I have the CS2 Production PREMIUM package that I paid for?
Self-extracting means that yes, when you click to run them, they should ask you where you would like to extract the files that are compressed and stored inside them.
When you run the other disk executables, what do they do?
If they do in fact ask you where to extract files to, either make a folder (anywhere you want) or point to an existing folder and allow them to extract their files to that location. Just make certain you point to the same location when you do this for any other disk executabl

you had plugins for some of your software?

I did have plug-ins but that's not what I'm talking about.
My CS2 Production Premium came with 'Keylight' and 'Cycore Effects' included
in my AfterEffects7.0 Professional.
I'm missing these effects.
The site they sent me to download my software - because I can no longer use
the discs - says there should be 7 files for CS2 PREMIUM edition & 5 files
for CS2 BASIC.
I've got the 5 files for CS2 Basic - I'm looking for the 2 CS2 PREMIUM files
that I'm missing.
Here are the 5 files I have:
1-CreativeSuiteCS2Disc1.exe
2-CreativeSuiteCS2Disc2.exe
3-CreativeSuiteCS2Disc3.exe
4-CS_2.0_WWE_Extras_1.exe
5-VCS2.zip
These are the 2 files I'm missing:
CreativeSuiteCS2Disc4.exe
CS_2.0_WWE_Extras_2.exe

Adobe Chat wouldn't advise you to come to the forum to get the files. The only way you'll get those is via Adobe. You will have to contact them (I recommend via phone). It's perfectly valid to want your CS2 premium with the included plugins since they shut the activation servers down and the discs don't work. They should have no problem either helping you find them on the page or via an alternate route.
What definitely won't happen is anyone here offering the files to you, nobody here can do this. They are intellectual property of their respective owners and only Adobe can verify your CS2 Premium and give them to you.

Adobe Chat DID tell me to come to the forum.
They told me this yesterday and again today.
I asked them BOTH TIMES how someone on the forum is going to get me the Adobe software that I'm missing -and I was told that CS2 is so old there was nothing they could do to help me and that the forum was the only place for me to go.
That's why I'm here.
I already know who to go to - I just don't know how to get them to help me. -They keep telling me to come here-and I'm PISSED about it!!!!
I've been trying to get this done now for 4 days and I have clients waiting for their spots to be produced!!!
I'll try calling them again to see if they give me any different directions this time-but I'm not holding my breath.

I did read your message- and all they're doing is shuttling me to the forum, where I can't get what I need. And yes they're telling me over and over that CS2 is too old and they can't help me over the phone so I have to go to the forum to get my missing software - but no one on the forum can give that to me or link me to where I can get it. So apparently there's NOTHING I can do to get what I've purchased from Adobe. I'm just SOL!!!

i believe your assessment is correct. you're not going to get this resolved via adobe.
you could use google to see if some third party has the add-ons you seek.

Plugins are not subject to the Adobe activation servers. You should be able to just copy the files you lack from the discs or the install folder they create during install and use the keys you've already been provided.
In my experience (too long ago), suite setups always let me re-run them at a later time and simply check/uncheck to install/uninstall content from the suite. So you may really only need to pop the disc in, run setup and check to install only the extras to your existing CS2 install.

Thanks Sinious - that worked.
Now I just have to figure out where to get Encore DVD 2.0.

Glad that worked but unfortunately Encore, as you know being Adobe and they're (to me, shockingly) unwillingness to help, I don't think that will get resolved. Luckily since it's such old software you can find quite a few other DVD authoring suites that are free all around the web. Luckily there's nothing magical about Encore CS2 or DVD authoring so the tools out there are actually pretty good. If that's the limit of your troubles then you're in good shape.

Tgbvfr I am sorry you have faced so many difficulties reinstalling After Effects. Do you have a case number from your interaction with our support team which I can reference?
Also you may want to reference the FAQ we have on this topic at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1195856. In specific the following is relevant to the difficulties which you have been facing:
If the software title you have purchased is affected by the activation server being shut down, but is not available for download in the previously referenced pages, then please contact our support team at http://www.adobe.com/support/chat/ivrchat.html. Please be aware our support team will not be able to provide assistance for downloading or installing the Creative Suite 2 software.

Jeff-
I do not have any case # - can't find it on my printouts of my chats with your support team.
The biggest problem I have is that on your own website for downloading CS2 you have a file - CS2_install_Win.pdf.
In this pdf it says- "The Premium version includes a total of seven files; the Standard version includes five files."
The pdf then lists all of the Standard and Premium files.
But your website only includes the Standard files for download - not the Premium.
The missing files are:
CreativeSuiteCS2Disc4.exe
CS_2.0_WWE_Extras_2.exe
So when I tried to get these Premium files but was unable to because they were missing from your site, I asked your support team for help getting them.
No one ever told me why the Premium files were missing or where to get them.
All I was told by your support team was that CS2 is too old and they can't help me with it so I must go ask for help on the forum.
When I asked your support team how someone at the forum was going to give me access to these missing files - I was given no answer and simply told again to go to the forums.
----
As for your FAQ- what good is it?
From FAQ: "If the software title you have purchased is affected by the activation server being shut down, but is not available for download in the previously referenced pages, then please contact our support team at http://www.adobe.com/support/chat/ivrchat.html. Please be aware our support team will not be able to provide assistance for downloading or installing the Creative Suite 2 software."
So, If I the software I need is missing from the site then I'm supposed to contact your support team to help me download the missing files that were 'not available in the previously referenced pages' - but your support team will not be able to help me get the missing files.
So you're telling me to contact your support team even though they can't help me? - What's the point?
In fact, I did exactly what your FAQ said to do - contact your support team for help getting the missing files, but your support team could not help me get the missing files.
-Hence my frustration!!!

I have a related frustration: My CS2 Premium suddenly went haywire and required reactivation whenever I tried to use Photoshop. So I contacted Adobe via chat and they helpfully provided me with a link to these Creative Suite CS2 Disc.exe files:
1-CreativeSuiteCS2Disc2.exe
2-CreativeSuiteCS2Disc2.exe
3-CreativeSuiteCS2Disc2.exe
CS_2.0_WWE_Extras_2.exe,
plus an installation instrution file: CS2_Install_Win.pdf
I thought that was great, until I tried to install them on my Win7 machine. The installation instructions provided in the PDF file are from 2005(!!) so they're worthless--the file names & types listed in the instructions don't even match the download file names. Your instructions state that I need 7 files--but all you offer on the site are 5 .exe files. But I trusted you, so I uninstalled my exiting program (as INSTRUCTED) and downloaded all 5 files from the site and took a guess at how to install them. But after running the disc 1 exe file, it asks me to install disc 2. Your instructions say when that happens to just click OK and then double-click on the disc 2 "disc image" file. But that doesn't work because all I have are.exe files and not disc image files! I keep clicking on the OK but it just beeps at me and if I go ahead and click on disc to anyway, then at the end of the install get a warning telling me the software hasn't properly installed. I've tried it 3 different times and these files simply won't install correctly.
If Adobe is going to offer folks these older downloads, then PLEASE at least tell us how to go about installing them on Win7. Now here I sit with no CS software at all and my only recourse seems to be to look on the forums. Has anyone had any luck installing these files on Win7?

you should download 3 different disc files.
they are all self extracting files and they're all supposed to extract into the same directory. unfortunately, by default, they do not do that.
so, after extracting their contents, move all the extracted files to the same directory and then run disk1's setup file

Thanks for the help---however, I'm not sure I totally understand. Are the .exe files I listed in my first post the "self-extracting" files you're referring to? If so, I did move them to the same directory before I clicked on the disc1.exe file to run. But it still asked me to insert disc2 when it got through running disc1--and I can't do that. If I just click OK, it beeps and doesn't continue. If I cancel, and then run disc 2, that doesn't work either.
These .exe files really don't seem to be "self-extracting". Can you at least confirm that I'm downloading the correct files?
I didn't see anything in the stuff I downloaded that was called a "setup" file, either.

Tgbvfr I have requested a member of our support team to contact you regarding activating Production Studio Premium. I did check under your account and it does not appear the software is registered under the same account as your e-mail address. If you can please have your serial number available prior to our support technician contacting you it would be appreciated. Also for your reference your most recent case number is 185053334.
As for your inquiry regarding updating the PDF files we would need to also update the compressed packages. This will not be occurring. Please utilize the suggestions offered by Kglad in regards to extracting the installation files for CS2 to the same directory.

PoolShark I am sorry but our support team does not provide assistance with the installation process for Creative Suite 2. Please see message #13 for the FAQ we have on this topic including updated installation instructions.

Well this is just terrific. Message #13 doesn't help me in the least--nor does the thread 1195856. I've got all the CS2exe files in the right folder, as kglad suggests, but it still keeps asking me to install disc2 after it's completed the disc 1 install. What I really need is step by step instructions on how to get the three CS2 exe files installed--to insure I'm doing everything right, but no one is able to provide that.
So basically, I'm screwed. Thanks a lot Adobe.

Just make certain you point to the same location when you do this for any other disk executables.
edit:
Being I own CS2 I downloaded one of the files and yes, they are self extracting. This is the dialog you get when you run them:

You need to run all the self extracting files and make sure the location is the same, then click Next, etc until it's finished extracting. Then run setup after all files have been extracted to the same location. You will get no more errors.

Thanks sinious. I do have all 3 exe files in the same folder, and I do point to the same folder as the process proceeds. But in addition to extacting files, it continues to run the installation process and eventually gets to the point where it asks me to insert disc2--which I can't do. And it won't let me just "point" to the disc 2 exe by clicking on it either. Do I have to find a way to first "unpack" all 3 exe files, then try to run the install? If that's the case, then all I can do is cancel the disc1 install when it starts asking me for disc2 (which I've done before with the result being an "installation has failed" message), and then click on disc2 to unpack it. And then do the same for dis3. Then when they're all unpacked, I go back and try to figure out how run the install.
I dunno. It just shouldn't be this difficult... but I'll mess with it again tonight. Thanks for trying to assist---I do appreciate it!
PS--Just saw your note below the screen image... missed that before. It clarifies that last question I asked. Hopefully with your advice, I'll get a successful install tonight--thanks so much.

Yep, you should unpack them before you run the setup, all to the same location. Then setup should succeed. Let us know how it works for you.
