The disc and the book are in the original box but I can't find it.
Someone said I was ridiculous to think the 1997 version would work in 2023
but they are wrong it was working just fine.
When my computer was stolen from my home in 2006 I was able to get a person
on the phone who gave me a number to put in and r
That restored it just fine.
But now they don't answer the phone so I can't get the help I need.
I use it every day for lots of things and I don't need anything newer!

you might be able to download the installation file (though that's not clear because you don't state what you lost), but you'll need your serial number.

Thanks,I wish I could remember what version it was called but my memory is
not as good as it once was. I'm 2 months older than Bide boy but I'm not
senile so I can't be President.
I did not know I was communicating with the world when I put that info out
there and that person who said I was being ridiculous is the ridiculous one
I actually started using it at the beginning of 1993 when I was selling old
machines and excess material and property used at the plant in KC to
produce our nuclear weapons that have been made here since 1949.
Why would you assume that just because the software in 30 years old it
would not work today?
And I have never used all of the features that are built into the software.
I mostly just took photos of things I was selling at auction and blocked
out classified things that might be in the picture.
I quit designing final acceptance used to insure the components would work
properly in 1993 and started an auction facility then I retired from the
plant in 2005.
There are a lot of stupid people who do not honour their word or oath. I
had the highest security clearance "Q" you can get for 32 years and had to
sign a contract that I would not ever talk about what I designed if I
wanted to get my retirement checks. It took 4 months to get it after the
FBI and others checked my background and I was rechecked every 5 years
while I was there.
Many would not know that Charlton Heston had a Q clearance when he
en;listed in the military for 6 years at the beginning of WW2.
Only the President can declassify documents and when he removes them when
he leaves office they are declassified automatically by his doing that!
ALL others who do so are committing treason and should be in Leavenworth
right now even if you do have a corvette!
I only had a secret clearance while I was in th Army.

I think a crucial point was "1997". That would be Photoshop 4.0 (not CS4). This is years before installers were put online. You find that disk, and the serial number that went with it, or you buy something new.

i can't determine what either poster in this thread wants/wanted, but you're correct whatever the most recent poster wants, it's probably not available at prodesigntools.  (but it may be on adobe's ftp server.)
