Hi. I've been using Adobe on my Mac laptop for nearly a year now with no issues but about three or four weeks ago all the tools on all my apps suddenly stopped working and all just showed the hand tool. I tried restarting my device, updates each app, uninstalling and reinstalling each of them and restoring all the settings to default but none of it worked.
I then tried to get help here but the person who was meant to help me kept insisting for my premising to remotely access my computer. When I tried to ask why or for an alternative (no tech support person has ever asked me for that before, so I felt weary) he kept not making sense and refusing to explain, which made me feel even more uneasy with the situation and I quit the chat.
But I'm still having this problem and have no idea how to fix it. Can anyone please help?! I literally can't use any of them anymore!
When you get the hand-tool press spacebar or double tap it
It might be an issue coming from the Keyboard. Try with virtual keyboard or by another keyboard.

I don't use a MAC but is it possible that one of the keys on the keyboard is stuck/faulty, if it's not that try using the Adobe cleaner tool to uninstall/reinstall

Please provide the list of apps which are not working.
Open Applications folder and check whether the app icons are available ?
If possible a screenshot will be better where it displays hand symbol.

Hi,
When I was taking the screen caps my cursor dissipated but no matter what took I select, my cursor is always the hand tool and functions as the hand tool, no matter what I try. It affects all the adobe apps I use; Photoshop, After Effects and Illustrator

Hii, I am facing the same issue now. However pressing the spacebar in the. virtual keyboard. or the hardware doesn't work. It just closes the file and miniimises the app.

if you successfully reset the ai preferences and that failed,
uninstall ai including preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html
check for, and if available, update your os
repair all ms visual c++ versions that can be repaired.
update your ms visual c++, if it can be updated
restart your computer
reinstall ai
