Unable to reinstall Acrobat

I've change my MAC and I transfered everything with Apple Migration Assistant. Everything worked out great except Adobe Acrobat Pro 11. I've been asking help on this forum, I've been transfered to the chat where I've been helped 6 times by different teckies (first lines, second lines and third lines, every time) but no one was able to solve my issue, or wanted to take the time to solve my issue.

Now, this my 7th and last attempt to solve this issue. I hope that I'll find someone knowledgable and professionnal.

Environment: MAC OS 10.10.3

ADOBE ACROBAT PRO 11: LIcence bought october 2014

Did you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Acrobat Pro XI?

Also, May I know the exact error message you are getting?

Of course I did. And of course, all the teckies tried this also.

The message is: Installation has failed. The installation program has encountered an error and the installation could not resume. Contact the editor in order to get support. (My translation from french.)

After one month and 6 different attemps, I would be very happy to contact the editor !!!

There are different installers to install Apps like Creative Cloud app , Akamai Download Manager , .pkg installer.

We will try to install Acrobat Pro XI using Creative Cloud application which uses  different Installer and check.

Click on the below link and download Adobe Creative Cloud application and install the same :

https://ccmdls.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/KCCC/1/osx10/CreativeCloudInstaller.dmg

Once installed , Sign in with your Adobe ID.

Once Signed in , Click on  Apps tab .

It will load Apps list. once it is loaded locate Acrobat Pro XI and then click on " Install/ Try" button next to it.

You may need to close Safari during installation process.

The installation is complete, but I cannot register with my licence number.

This is what I suspected from the very beginning: Acrobat is probably considering that I'm using someone else licence number.

OH ! In the list of applications provided by Creative Cloud, I had one choice only of ACROBAT, but I realize that it is ADOBE ACROBAT DC.

What is DC ?

How come that it was my only choice ?

Acrobat Pro DC is the latest version ,. DC stands for Document Cloud.

If you wish , you may use it as trial for 30 days .

However , if you wish to install Acrobat Pro XI , you need to uninstall Acrobat Pro DC.

Then we will download Acrobat pro XI using Adobe Download Assistant.

Important Question :

Are you using installation disc to install Acrobat Pro XI ?

or Downloaded installer file ?  if So , May I know from where did you downloaded installer file ?? may I know the file size of the installer?

I downloaded the installation file from adobe site.

The faile is named AcrobatPro_11_Web_WWMUI.dmg

It is 842.2 MB


But why did I downloaded Creative Cloud ???????

The error you are getting is because of Installer,

You may uninstall Adobe Creative Cloud if you wish . ( Applications> Utilities> Adobe Insallers> Uninstall Adobe Creative Cloud)

.Also uninstall Acrobat Pro DC as well.

you can check if there any entries in host file too

if you any adobe files in hosts file

you can rename hosts to hosts.old

go-go to folder-type etc

look for hosts

then rename hosts to hosts.old

-then type the serial key

let me know if it works
