I have 18 new updates in my Adobe creative cloud application on my desktop (mac). When I click the update button nothing happens. this has been happening for a few weeks now. The sign-out button is grayed out too. Does anyone know a solution and how to fix this?

SOLUTION: go to applications -> utilities -> activity monitor. Then go to the energy tab and force quit out of each adobe product. you have to do it one by one. you cant do it all at once. so highlight core sync for instance and press the big X button on the top left hand side, and it will prompt you to quit or force quit. choose force quit. once all of those adobe apps are no longer showing up on the list, go back to your applications folder, and open adobe creative cloud back up and try to upd

I dont see an edit button in order to update my respnse with more details but I'm running macOS Catalina 10.15.7 and I have Adobe Creative Cloud 5.3.1.470 what a number! There is no error code. I go to the top right hand corner of my Apple computer and click the Adobe Creative Cloud icon in the menu bar up top. A window pops up that shows me all the apps that want to be updated and any time I click any of them, nothing happens. Yes I've done restarts and shut downs since the problem came about. When I click update all, nohting happens. When I go to the blue circle and try to click sign off, its grayed out. Screen Shot 2020-10-29 at 10.38.27 AM.png

I realise this is an old post, but I'm really trying to get this to work, but no luck so far. An issue I observed in my case is that most of the apps don't disappear from that list, they just get greyed out, like the screeshot attached. Any idea on what's happening? Thanks!

Hi there,

I see the screenshot that you have shared is from the previos version of the app. Please try and install the lastest version of apps.

Hope this helps!

Hello! Thanks for the reply! I'm also having issues with this, as they all appear to be up to date (even though they're not) — see attached screenshot. For example, my After Effects' version is 22.5 and it still says up to date.

reset the cc desktop app by making sure it's in the foreground, then press:

Win: Ctrl + Alt + R
Mac: Cmd + Opt + R

if that fails, repair per https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-install-stuck.html

if that fails and you have windows, open your control panel > add/remove programs > cc desktop app > repair

if that fails, uninstall using the correct uninstaller from https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-mes... and then reinstall using*

if that fails, do a clean cc install carefully following each applicable step:

uninstall every cc app including preferences per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, again using the correct uninstaller per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-mes...

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

check for, and if available, update your os

if windows is your os, repair all ms visual c++ versions that can be repaired (use google if you don't know how to do this)

if windows is your os update your ms visual c++, if it can be updated (use google if you don't know how to do this)

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app using the "alternative download links" at the bottom of the page at https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-app-download.html

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials

NOTE: win 11 users that have trouble with the latest win 10 installer often have success with the older win 10 installer.
