What happened to my old version of Illustrator I brought as part of a Suite?

I decided to trial the new CC Illustrator using the Free 7 day trial. After the trial I did not want to subscribe as I was happy with my older version already installed on my computer that I had been using for years. To my surprise when I went to use my old version I could not access it. I then started a lengthy and non productive live chat with adobe customer care. This situation has not been resolved and I consider this theft.

I paid £289.99 for Illustrator which came as part of the Adobe Suite. i brought it at the same time I purchased a MacBookPro.  If Adobe do not resolve this I am going to report this as a criminal offence.

All the responses i receive refer to asking me 'please provide the email under which you have the active subscription'. I never had any subscription. They do not seem to be able to move on from this and acknowledge that they have made a grave mistake. Why cannot they reverse whatever they have done with ending this trial subscription? I see this as a profiteering way of selling products.

Please help anyone please and how i can escalate this matter further.

    This is becoming a huge issue with Adobe. Recently they've decided that one-purchase applications were not profitable enough, and so decided to adamantly restrict all older versions that operated on a single-purchase exchange (There are no longer any Adobe single-purchases). They're even started taking legal action against these versions, so I wouldn't mess with them. I'm sure they've done their greedy homework. I really like their products and use a lot of them all the time, but as a student, it's hard for me to afford to pay $360 a year. They also don't have any place to send in any sort of complaint email, just these forums and chat lines. Wish I could help.

      Well, this is not theft but a misunderstanding between you and Adobe support.

      So let me start with a basic question: What is your version of Illustrator?

      BTW: DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR SERIAL NUMBER TO PEOPLE CONTACTING YOU VIA PM, SKYPE, FACEBOOK ETC.

      Impostors are scanning the net to get access to valid serial numbers. Only people marked as STAFF instead of my fancy ACP badge and having an Adobe logo beihind their name are from Adobe. If contacted by someone else, report them here.
