How do I downgrade from the Creative Cloud complete plan to theannual to Creative Cloud plan for Photoshop customers

This topic has been closed for replies.
Correct answer Beverley Gray

Hi Bobs150886

I checked your account and you have a qualifying version of Photoshop registered.  I can therefore cancel your existing complete Creative Cloud membership and you can sign up for the Photoshop Photography program.

Let me know how you wish to proceed.

Kind regards

Bev

Hi ilenscreatives

As your subscription is from our Digital River managed Adobe Store, please contact support for cancellation assistance and then you can sign up for the new plan - see Managing your Membership FAQ: How do I cancel my Creative Cloud, Acrobat, or Document Cloud PDF membership?

Thanks

I would also like to switch from Creative Cloud to Photography and avoid the cancellation fee -- the only place I can find people doing that successfully is through the staff here on the forum.  I used to use Illustrator more, but I've changed jobs and haven't used it in a long time and can't justify the cost anymore.  I really only use Photoshop and Lightroom.  I'd like to get this sorted out before switching over my stand alone Lightroom to the CC Lightroom.  Can one of the staff members help me?  Thanks.  -- Brian

I guess that's a no.  As a early adopter of Creative Cloud I'm starting to feel like I fell for something.

Update: I contacted Customer Service (online chat) for this, and other than the absurdly long wait they were able to painlessly switch my plan.  It seems that while we don't have the option on the web page, they do -- it appears they no longer have to cancel your CC plan, cancel the cancellation fee, and start the new plan, they can just switch plans.  The only drawback was the length of time it took.  I'd type something, wait a while, eventually leave the room to do something, come back and it would say "agent is typing," wait a while, leave and do something else, come back and it still said "agent is typing," sit down, and a message would eventually appear.  Repeat.  I think our short and fairly simple interaction took at least 30 minutes.

This is an old thread... but I thought readers would be interested in how it went for me trying to Downgrade my plan.

The complete transcript is here:   http://starcircleacademy.com/2015/07/adobe-customer-dis-service/

Here are just some snippets.  See the link for a full transcript. Notice the extreme time wasting that goes on!  In my request I stated that I "I was disappointed there is no option to downgrade to the Photography Plan. Please change my plan from the Suite to the Photography Plan"... that was at about 11:56 AM.

12:02:11 PM Ankan: Hello! Welcome to Adobe Customer Service.

12:02:21 PM Ankan: Hi Steven .

12:03:03 PM ME: Do I need to retype my request?

12:03:40 PM ME: Hello?

12:03:45 PM Ankan: No.

12:03:48 PM ME: Are you there?

12:03:53 PM Ankan: Yes.

12:03:59 PM Ankan: I am sorry for the delay.

12:04:13 PM Ankan: I have received your request.

12:05:12 PM ME: Can I assume that you’re switching my plan now?

12:05:51 PM Ankan: I see that you have Creative Cloud membership (one-year) registered with your account.

12:07:33 PM Ankan: I am sorry, we don’t have option to downgrade the current plan to Photoshop.

...
12:17:33 PM ME: This is another reminder to me of the unpleasant experiences I’ve had with Adobe. So I will just cancel my plan.

12:25:47 PM Ankan: Steven, if you are willing to continue the membership ...

12:27:09 PM ME: I am willing to cancel my account with no penalty. My second choice is to dispute the charge with my card carrier. Your choice.

...

12:30:55 PM Ankan: Steven , please allow me a minute . let me check what best can be done regarding the issue.

...

12:47:44 PM Ankan: I have successfully cancelled the subscription for the Creative Cloud membership (one-year) .

I am trying to downgrade from CC cloud to the One-app plan (Photoshop with TypeKit - $19.99).

It is so frustrating dealing with Adobe on such routine subscription issues. This sort of issue takes one or two simple clicks with EVERY major SaaS company, but no, not Adobe, they insist of infuriating their customers by making us jump through a thousand hoops for everything. I can only assume it's because people get frustrated and cannot complete their downgrade or cancelation so they give up and keep paying Adobe money. This is bad business in 2015 and Adobe is destined to learn a hard lesson like Microsoft has.

It's ironic that a company that caters largely to designers (whose job it is to be empathetic to their users) has such poor processes in place when it comes to customer service and making the customer happy. That's why Adobe is on the tip of NOBOBY'S tongue anymore. Just another dinosaur.

I've just about had it with Adobe. With other outstanding apps like Sketch, I am one hair away from just leaving the Adobe ecosystem entirely, and a large reason is this BS customer support.

Hi briane79049645

Sorry for the frustration caused.

If you wish to change from Creative Cloud complete to a single app membership you would need to contact support to cancel your existing plan then sign up for the new plan - Cancel your membership or subscription | Creative Cloud

I notice you have changed your plan to Creative Cloud complete prepaid.  If you did not intend to do this and want to cancel, please let us know.

Kind regards

Bev

Following my retirement, I really neither need nor can afford the complete plan, so I'd like to transfer to the Photoshop and LR version instead - I hope you can help me too.

Hi,

I am currently on the CC complete plan, but have had a change of circumstances with work and would like to downgrade to the Lightroom/Photoshop plan, is this possible?

Thanks,

Hi Peter

We'd need to cancel your existing plan and then you could sign up for the CC Photography plan.

Please let me know if you wish to proceed with this - you'd still have access to complete CC until 21 Feb and could then start the new plan.

Kind regards

Bev

Hi Bev,

Thanks for the fast reply, yes, please, cancel my CC plan. I presume I just sign up for the photography plan using my existing Adobe ID?

Kind Regards,
