Collaboration; can a team co-edit all files related to a product?

The promise of using Adobe Creative Cloud to share files is

  • Single cloud-based current file with versioning
  • Collaborative editing
  • Being able to share entire projects instead of having to share individual files only

I trying to achieve these, Iā€™m following an Adobe support article https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/collaboration.html

What seems to be happening is that

  • directories can not be shared in the cloud for collaborative editing
  • all collaborative editing and versioning can only be done on a file by file basis
  • the "synced files" in Adobe CC will not enable collaborative editing and versioning; they must be downloaded and shared as individual files in the cloud for this functionality.

What I want to achieve is

  • Single cloud-based current file with versioning
  • Collaborative editing
  • Being able to share entire projects instead of having to share individual files only

As of this writing, it seems Adobe products are not capable of delivering on these goals. Am I missing something?

Yes, I believe we do. Is there any way to confirm that from the user interface?

the team/enterprise admin should be posting for help. they would already know and checking their portal to confirm seems superfluous.  otoh, you could check to see if you have an individual subscription here, Adobe Account   i'm not sure what you'd see (if anything) if you were part of a team/enterprise subscription, but you could try it and report the results.

According to the Adobe account page, my license is "Adobe for Teams". We log into creative clousd using SSO, and it's managed by my IT department, so the IT department can see the adminstration console but not me. They are disconnected from the usage. I could get them to join this thread if you think it's essential.

I think folders can be shared, but at a normal file-level co-editing isn't possible for typical file types. For saves by different people, it'll increment the file version.

However, we do have Cloud documents. And this file format is built for collaboration. Do give these a try and see if they help. https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/about-cloud-documents.html

Thank you Vikrant. We are using cloud documents already. What seems to be missing for us is cloud folders; the ability to share a group of files. What I'm looking for is Adobe's competitive response to Abstract.com.

I'm sharing all the times cloud folders with different people. The other people can access the data and modify, if I allocate write permission. I see, when the target modifies a file, if I want to keep track of that.

Thank you Abambo!

Are you referring to "synced" documents perhaps? I use a Mac, and so my finder has a favorite installed named "Creative Cloud Files". While I can certainly create and share folders of files there, I can not collaboratively edit one of those files in Adobe XD. I think Adobe calls these "synced files". With a synced file, the last save overwrites all edits, even if the edits were to different art boards or layers, and even if the version the editor is saving is not the most recent version of the file. Can you help me understand the steps you've taken to share folders of cloud documents?
