Is there an Adobe product that can convert C4, JEDMICS or CALS files to PDF? The C4 files are blueprints so I need to be able to zoom and manipulate the image without distorting it. I tried printing the image directly from the C4 file and save to Adobe Acrobat Pro DC but it didn't work. When I zoomed in on the image it distorted it.
Hi Cara,
If you ask me about Acrobat, then i can surely say these formats are not supported by Acrobat for conversion to pdf file format.
Moreover A search on the internet about these format leads me to " JEDMICS C4 and CALS are raster (bitmap) image formats developed by ..." so logically the most probable software from Adobe that can open these file formats are Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.

But Unfortunately, I don't see these file formats mentioned in the KB Doc list of 'Supported file formats' for these two products :
If you can export these image formats to any of the popular image formats (*.jpeg, *.png etc ) then i believe you can convert the resultant file to .pdf format.
Hope that helps

Hi Mr. Tyagi!
For the last few years, I have not had any problem opening ".C4" files using Acrobat Reader DC. About 2 weeks ago, I could no longer open the .C4 files from the Defense logistics Agency (DLA). They put out many of their technical files using the .C4 format.
I have not had this problem and am sure I have the necessary program to open these files but it no longer automatically opens them.
Did I do something to change the method of opening them or has Adobe changed something for the files it will allow to be opened?
This is affecting my business and I need your help.
Thanks for your understanding.
Wayne W.

Acrobat Reader has never opened anything except PDF files. You need a CALS viewer. Please see Defense Logistics Agency > Careers > Viewers
