Deploying CC2015 Upgrade

Hi everyone,

is there any way to deploy Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, [...] 2015 for all Computers that have 2014 installed? The Remote Update Manager doesn't seem to update the major version. We download the Updates via AUSST, so is it just not working or not supposed to be working?

What are the alternatives? Do we have to install the 2015-Version of those programs on all clients via remotecontrol or what's the best practice for the upgrade from 2014 to 2015?

Best regards

Tobias

Hi,

You are correct in saying that the CC 2015 applications cannot be delivered via RUM/AUSST. These are full binary builds of the products rather than patches. The correct way to deploy these is to use Creative Cloud Packager to build a package which will give you an msi or pkg file which you can deploy. You can also use the Creative Cloud Desktop App to install if your users have admin rights on their machine.

Hi alisterblack,

thanks for your answer. I've already tried it with the Creative Cloud Packager but instead of upgrading Photoshop 2014 the 2015 Version was additionally installed, leaving Photoshop 2014 still on the system. Did I miss a way to specify an "update only" - version or is this intended?

If I grant the user permission to install apps with the creative cloud desktop app, is there any way to get the update files from an internal server instead of 20 users each downloading the updates from the internet?

Best regards

Tobias

Hi,

Yes that would be the expected behaviour. The desktop app will give the option to delete the previous version but not from CCP.

Unfortunately the desktop app can't download via AUSST.
