We're an educational organization with 500 device licenses deployed using CC Packager and SCCM. We previously used third-party software for managing student profiles (essentially erasing them overnight) but we're now simplifying this by adding student users to the guest group. All of our lab software and all the CC applications are okay with this except for Adobe Media Encoder, which says, "Cannot use this product under guest account".
The version of Media Encoder is 11.0.2, which I believe is the current version. Is there a workaround for this? Can a developer verify whether this check is still necessary? It seems irrational to have Premiere Pro and After Effects compatible with guest accounts if the integrated Media Encoder is not.

Same situation at a broadcast site using CCP to create packages currently this issue is with AME 11.1.2 build 35 PPro & AE works without issue. Our environment is to take users accounts and add them to the local guests account so that when they log out the account is removed from the local machine. We have engaged adobe engineering about the issue but wanted to check to see if you have had this issue resolved.
Thanks

No, we haven't been able to resolve this. If you get a solution from Adobe, please update us here.

I just had a meeting with Daniel Brotsky the Chief Architect of Licensing who wrote the licensing schema back in 2003. He said this is an edge case which AME cannot currently resolve with the current schema hence the reason for the licensing rewrite that they are currently embarked on.
In the new year the new licensing schema will fix this issue but you will have a new method of managing and licensing to contend with. It will be an adjustment but will be for the better. For a while, we will just have to deal with limited users being able to access AME and make the Guest group users use the internal application exporters.
Hope this news helps

Thanks for the reply. Our Adobe licensing is already per machine, so I don't understand how user groups would matter. Nonetheless, it sounds like we're on our own.
If you're interested, I found a way to simulate the guest group, so that the profiles function like guests, but Media Encoder actually works. We're still testing implementation, but I could email you what I have so far.
