Installation of packages from Creative Cloud packager fails with error "The Bootstrapper Process return code is (42).Stopping the installation process".

I'm trying to install packages created with the Packager on an offline Windows 7 PC. Even though this worked a couple of months ago, every package I now try fails with the above error.

I have tried creating the package on both Windows 7 and 10 computers, but I keep getting the error no matter what I try. For testing I am just using a package including only Photoshop CC and Bridge CC, which should both support Windows 7. I have also tried creating a package with 2017 versions, still fails.

Other things I have tried:

-Copying setup files to C: and running as admin.

-Manually installing the Adobe Root CA certificate.

-Use the cleaning tool and remove all Adobe related software.

Which applications (exact versions) are in your package?

What is the exact version of the Operating System you are installing to?

Does the error occur after running Windows Updates?

Operating system is Windows 7 Enterprise version 6.1 Build 7601 SP1.

Updates are handled through an internal server, as our network is not connected to the internet. They install automatically every night or so.

Hi,

Thanks for that information.

The exact error indicates that the bootstrapper is not able to validate the digital signatures of the Adobe binary. This usually occurs due to missing windows updates or if the windows certificate store is not up to date. So this issue is specific to the machine.
