Re: Moving Creative Cloud folder to external hard drive

Community Beginner ,

Apologies to revive an old post - but I need to perform the same action for my organisation.

We currently use Adobe CC on Surface Pro's, which have very limited storage.

I would like to move the Creative Cloud Files folder from the C:\Users\userA\Creative Cloud Files\ location to external USB SSD drives for 4x users.

(a) is the possible?

(b) if so, once the default location has been updated in CC Preferences, will it rebuild the CC files folder, or should I copy it to the external drives first?

Many thanks Adobe community (this is my first post)!

Keith.

any thoughts as to why I get this when I try to set up a new backup location (external drive) for my CC files?

Don't use a root location (the folder for a whole disk). A lot of things don't work if you do that. Make a folder and use that.

We have aboanded the use of external SSD for Adobe Creative Cloud Files folder.

Continual syncing problems, sometimes misses files, seems unreliable.

We have approx 6x users, 2 of which trialed the use of exteral drives.

There seems to be a space in the name of your folder "Adobe CC " space at end. Don't know if that's the problem, but try without. Make sure you can create files there, in Finder, WITHOUT needing a password each time.
