So if I'm not mistaken, RUM only works to install patches to the currently installed version of whatever Adobe CC apps you have installed.
If so, is there any better way to deploy new versions of Adobe CC apps than having to build and deploy a new package every X months?
IE if AE 16 was installed currently and we wanted to deploy AE 17 we'd have to build a package, download that package and deploy it (essentially by hand).
Allowing our end users to do this by themselves isn't an option as Adobe often has major breaking changes between versions - Thanks Adobe - that we simply have to wait to avoid until they are resolved.
Currently, the only option to upgrade the application to the new version is to create an update package from the admin console and install it on the user's machine if you are using RUM as it is used to update/patch the currently installed version. You can use any deployment tool to install/deploy the package.

Even if the option was to call the upgrade process via terminal (on OSX in our case) from 16 to 17 that would be way better than having to hand-hold every workstation we have between major version changes.

Yeah,
That's what I'm doing currently is using Apple Remote Desktop as a package deployment process. It works, but is incredibly clunky (as far as a process goes).

This needs to be revisited by Adobe. There is no reasonable way to manage Adobe installs in a large and diverse computing environment with the current tools.
We should be able to install Adobe Creative Cloud (that application specifically) using any MDM solution desired. Once that tool is installed, IT managers should be able to upgarde, remove, install, etc. any Adobe application and version available via the Creative Cloud application.

Was looking into how to use RUM to upgrade from 2022 version to 2023, only to find that it's not supported, and they give a vague description of 'just deploy the new package'.
I mean, okay? But does that remove the old version? How do I remove the old version? Are you really expecting me to do this manually for 1000's of computers?

You can use AUSST with RUM to upgrade and update the CC apps (except CCD). This help document has steps for uninstalling the older versions of CC apps: https://helpx.adobe.com/enterprise/using/uninstall-creative-cloud-products.html#uninstall-select-ver...

Hello, is there any info available on how to use AUSST in combination with RUM to update the apps' major versions? Thanks
